Rainbow Inking for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for another challenge at CAS Mix Up!

Our hostess this month is my talented friend, Susan and for our Stencilng Challenge
 she chose...

I used a NBUS stencil from Studio Katia and inked through it with
Distress Inks.  The strings were stamped in the same colors.

The piece was die cut with a stitched rectangle and I added a narrow matting of
green.  The sentiment is heat embossed on a snippet of black cardstock and
popped up with dimensionals.

My sweet and talented friend, Michele (I Card Everyone) is our Guest Designer this month.
She and the Design Team have some awesome inspiration for you.
I hope you'll check them out and join us.

Challenges:
CAS Mix Up - Rainbow Inking-Must use a stencil
NBUS #26 - Never Before Used Schtuff (new stencil)

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

A Rainbow Array of Balloons

Hello friends.  I'm glad you could stop by!

I've used my balloon punches and dies to cut various sizes of balloons
from Mixed Media paper and colored them by swiping my Zigs
around the outer edge and spreading the color with a water brush.

When dry I temporarily adhered them to a scrap of cardstock,
smacked them with a Versamark pad and heat embossed with clear powder.

After laying the balloons on some sparkly paper to check for placement,
I stamped the happy birthday and some swirls from the other
words in this set in coordinating colors for the strings.

I've popped the balloons up for dimension.

I'm taking this to the Seize the Birthday 200th Challenge Celebration.
I have been inspired by the colors and the balloons.
Congratulations to Seize the Birthday!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Rainbow with Birds on a Wire for CAS Watercolour

Hello friends.

Just over a month to join in at CAS Watercolour.

Another Rainbow card for
Loll's CAS Watercolour Challenge

This was a test of using the Acetate Smoosh Technique I used on this card.

It was too pretty to throw away.

I added the silhouette birds on a wire, die cut twice and stacked,
then framed it, stamped a sentiment and was done.

Well I did mount the design on a piece of foam and attach it to a card base.

Then I was done!

The bird die was a gift from a sweet friend.
Thanks so much.  I love it!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Rainbow Stripes

Hello friends.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm having fun making rainbows this month for
There are some really pretty rainbow cards joining the gallery too.

To do this background, I swiped some Distress mini ink cubes on a piece
of acetate one at a time, spritzed and pressed onto mixed media paper.

I let the colors overlap a little and re-inked if the stripe wasn't bright enough.

The trick is lots of water!

I saw this technique here and CASEd Julie's card.
I found it easier to work with the acetate than the acrylic block.

I split the panel and adhered it the two pieces on foam tape to the card front.

The die cut balloon was watercolored with Zigs and covered with Glossy Accents for shine.
I wrapped a piece of twine around the base of the balloon and taped it in the back
then glued the end under thte heat embossed sentiment.

I tried this technique more than once to get this look.

Just saying....

Practice, practice, practice!

I'm going to take this over to the
Craft Stampers Magazine
ANYTHING GOES

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Rainbow for CAS Watercolour

Hello and welcome.

It's time for a new challenge at
CAS Watercolour

This month, Loll is hosting the challenge.

How fun is that?

I've had this Ironwork Background stamp for a long time.
It wasn't in my NBUS box, but I don't remember ever using it.
I could be wrong though.

I stamped and heat embossed the image onto Mixed Media paper.

To watercolor, I smooshed some Distress Ink onto a small piece of acetate,
spritzed with water and pressed it onto the embossed piece.
You can see a tutorial for this on Karen's Snippets Blog.

I repeated this process using different colors and blending them together
a bit with the brush, sometimes drying in between colors.

When it was all dry, I die cut the piece and added the
Memory Box butterfly and sentiment.
(The black outline butterfly has a solid die cut of vellum  underneath.)

Our Design Team has a beautiful variety of rainbow watercolor cards
to inspire you.  We are joined this month by our talented
Guest Designer, Hannelie (Desert Diva).

Hope we'll see your watercolor rainbows at CAS Watercolour this month.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
