Guest Designing for Tic Tac Toe

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm excited and honored to be Guest Designing today for the
Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

This time of year is my favorite with the leaves changing, smells of fall, and cooler,
crisp days.

There was this panel of embossed leaves on sitting on my table that was perfect
for this time of year.

I added some die cut and watercolored leaves.  Some were cut and colored already.
Some were done just for this card.

A little twine and I thought it was done.

Then I thought maybe some Nuvo drops would look good.  But I got a glob
and in trying to rub it away, it left some sheen on the leaf.  So I did the same to
the other leaves.

Here's the Tic Tac Toe board.

I used the column in the middle: Leaves/Foliage, Thank You, Die Cut(s)

I hope you'll check out the inspiration cards the Design Team has done and play along

Autumn Leaves Leftovers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had a class last week and this card was made from some leftovers of this card...

I had a piece of watercolor and the stencil from a piece that I had used
to test inking through a stencil made from a die cut for the inside.

I was able to die cut three of the small maple leaves from the watercolor
to pop over the stenciled ones.

Autumn Mosaic

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm still enjoying Fall colors.  These leaves were cut from some bits and pieces of

a subtle shimmer that makes them even more fun.

Fall Wreath

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I found this wreath all stamped in my UFO box and I thought it would look good
in Fall colors.

I used my Caran d'ache Supracolor pencils to color and blended very lightly
with a damp waterbrush.

When it was dry, I dry embossed with woodgrain and added a butterfly die cut
from a piece of watercolor background.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and a thin gold frame finishes off
the design.

Here's a look at the shine...

Challenges:
Inspired By - Hello Fall (I've kind of combined the regular challenge with the wreath from the Christmas challenge. I hope I'm still within the guidelines.)
Memory Box - Stripes (Woodgrain Stripes)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Watching the World Bloom (MB), Easy Expressions (Original) (The Ton)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark
Paper:   Neenah, Gold Foil (SU)

Autumn Leaves

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I really love using Eileen Godwin's sponging technique and
since a sweet friend recently sent me a Stencil Buddy, I wanted to try doing
this with the rounded edge instead of the straight edge.

After getting the geometric sponging done, I laid the Tumbling Leaves Stencil
(also a gift from a sweet friend) over top and lightly sponging
through with the same colors.

I cut the piece with a stitched rectangle die and popped some watercolor
leaves that were all ready and waiting to find their way on a card.
(The leaves have been colored with re-inkers and lots of water.)

Challenges:
CAS Mix Up - Autumn Colors Watercolour
Just Us Girls - Color Week (Yellow, Red, Orange)
Seize the Birthday - Birthday card with Faux Stitching

Card Recipe
Stamps: Wreath for All Seasons (PTI)
Ink:   Chocolate Chip (SU), Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge (DI)
Paper:   Neenah, Watercolor (Arches), Naturals Ivory (ret. SU)
Other:  Re-inkers (Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Old Olive), Stencil Buddy, Tumbling Leaves Stencil (SSS), Stitched Rectangle Die (SSS), Stitched Leaves (LF)

More Fun with Perfect Pearls

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

A couple of months ago, I zoomed with some friends and we use Perfect Pearls.

I've finally made some cards with my makes and need to share them
before the season passes.

For this card, I mixed gold Perfect Pearls with Pumpkin Pie ink and water and painted on
this leaf die cut.  While it was still wet, I brushed some copper Perfect Pearls
on top.

I've used some of the leftover gold mix smooshed on the background and
did a little random stamping over that with Tea Die ink.

Here's a picture that shows more of the shine.

I used the same technique for this card but used a little print making
for the background.

Isn't this a wonderful sentiment stamp?

And a close up of the shine.

Inspired by Fall

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

The Penny Black Saturday challenge this month is
Anything Goes'
or
'Too Cute to Spook!'

I don't have any of those cute Penny Black Halloween stamps so I had to
do some combining.  A hedgie from Just for You and a pumpkin from
the Pumpkin Patch.

A sweet friend sent me a surprise box and this frame die set was in it.
Wow! I'll be using it a lot!

And.....

I zoomed with some friends a little while back and we used
embossing folders.  We did a technique with double embossing.
For this card I first embossed with a Cable Sweater embossing folder
then again with a 3D embossing folder of leaves.
Can you see the two distinct patterns?

I was inspired to use it for the Inspired By challenge this week.
I was inspired by the wood paneled background, the texture of the sweaters
and the pumpkins.

I used the same pumpkin die for all three pumpkins, elongating one and cutting
a bit off the width of another.  All have been sponged for depth (badly I'd say
after seeing this picture.)

Almost forgot: The cable sweater embossing folder and Elegant Stitching Frame
are both enjoying their first outing so I'm going to the NBUS #19 Challenge

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Happy Fall with Sparkle Kitty

Hi there.  I'm glad you stopped by!

I'd like you to meet Sparkle, the kitty.

He's a fun Memory Box die cut from Black Glimmer Paper.

The background and pumpkin are from my Gel Press play.

I thought it would make a fun Halloween card for one of the grandkids.
So I did another.

This card base was stenciled with the same color ink as the cardstock.
I'd used the same stencil on my Gel Press piece that the pumpkin was cut from.

The background is a paper towel transfer from my stash.

I used a Circle Thin Frame die on a scrap of black then cut in half for the mouth
and cut the points off a punched star for the eyes and nose.

I do like a happy Jack-o-lantern face!

You can see better how Sparkle got his name in this next photo.

I used some Schparkly Embossing Powder on the sentiment.

Another Maple Leaf

My friend Trina is Guest Designing at

The background is a piece of smooshed watercolor from my stash.
I partially stamped lightly with a background stamp that has
names of trees and lightly stamped a few splats.

The die cut leaf was cut from watercolor paper, and painted with liquid
watercolor and re-inker to get a good saturated color.

There's still a few hours to join in at CAS Watercolour
with your watercolor maple leaves.
Challenge closes at midnight tonight PDT.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
