Snowy Scene and Peace

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Another Christmas card for the stash.

This background was done with inky paper towel pressed onto cardstock.

The trees were die cut from smooshed sheets in my background box.

The snowman was die cut from a snippet of white cardstock and glittered up
with a very old bottle of Dazzling Diamonds.  In fact I glittered up the whole scene
with that glitter glue and it was the devil to get a decent photo!

How about a twofer...

No stamping on tis one, just dry embossing, die cutting and some more of that
ancient glitter glue, this time in gold.

The peace is cut from gold foil cardstock as well as the mat.

Embossed Thanks

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I was recently the lucky winner of the random draw at

The Thank You embossing folder is one of the three that I received as the prize.

With the Tulip Magnolias blooming around here, I was inspired to bring out
my Alexandra Renke Two Magnolia dies that a sweet friend gifted me a couple of years ago.
I used them to make these cards and this one too.

This time I watercolored the die cuts and added to a double embossed and
scored card front.

I think this embossing folder will get a lot of use.

Thank you ladies for the prize and a special thanks for the challenge.

I used a little piece of Alexandra Renke patterned paper and paired it up
with a NBUS die from Simon Says Stamp.

Bunnies

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had some happy mail a couple of days ago.
I had admired an embossing folder a friend had used and she sent
me a few background pieces.

The cane/basket weave design seemed perfect for these sweet bunnies.

The bunnies are Washi Tape by Alexandra Renke.

I've stuck it on some cardstock and die cut a little rectangle with two of the bunnies.

I'll take these little lovelies over to Inspired By Challenge #166

Flossie got rolled out of bed, but she's getting ready to jump back!

Or maybe she'll chase that butterfly instead.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Pearly Magic Blossom

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

The design is a CASE of a card my dear friend Joanna sent me.

This magic flower was done by smooshing some Versamark onto the
die cut then brushing Perfect Pearls over the top.

You can see the shine better here.

The background is from a print making trial.  I ended up adding
some more blobs of watercolor until I was happy with it.

and a twofer for a Golden Anniversary

The bottom flower has been embossed with a glittery gold.  The top flower is cut
from Gold Foil.

Here's a better look at the shine.

I hope this got to it's destination in time...
Happy 50th Anniversary D & K!

Enjoy!

Shimmery, Sparkly Magnolias

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

A very sweet, dear friend recently sent me this Alexandra Renke Magnolia Duo die.
I was so excited to have it and couldn't wait to try it out!

After die cutting from watercolor paper, I watercolored the flower and bud
with Distress Oxide inks,

Since the Flower Challenge was asking for sparkle this month, I added a good coat
of Wink of Stella.  Can you see the shimmer?

I remembered some rose colored Glimmer paper and die cut the blooms from it
and the stems from bits of Champagne Glimmer.

It certainly has sparkle!

Thank you dear friend.  I will enjoy this die for a long time to come.

More Stencil Outline

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This might look familiar to some of you.
Blogger was playing tricks and it published a bit earlier than I expected.
Oops!

My sweet friend Loll, gifted me this lovely stencil recently and I couldn't
wait to have a play with it!

I used my blending brushes and some Distress ink through the stencil,
then used a watercolor pencil with a very sharp point to outline the leaves.

When I was finished, I cut the stenciled piece in half so I could
get two CAS (Clean and Simple) cards.

I die cut this half and used a larger die to emboss the card front.

Some watercolored die cut flowers and a popped up sentiment
finished it off.

The second half....
I added a watercolored die cut and a few die cut leaves.

More Gesso Resist

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

I've been playing with gesso again.

I've put some of my thick gesso through a stencil and let it dry.  Then I ink
blended some Scattered Straw Distress ink over the design, wiping it off the gesso.
There's a bit of texture stamping in the top left corner under the die cut.

The die cut was cut twice and glued together then watercolored.
After the watercoloring was dry, I brushed a little Transfer Gel Duo
over the top and let it dry.  I used some little bits of left over foil
to rub on the gel to give the flower some golden highlights.

My mixed media are Gesso Resist, Die Cutting, Watercoloring, Foiling
Stamping,  Heat Embossing, Dry Embossing and Splattering.
