Christmas Barn

Hello friends.  I'm glad you stopped by.

The boys are hanging out with us this week and Jack has been keeping busy in
the studio playing with Brushos.  But I was able to put together a quick
card for Merry Monday where Leanne is hosting.

I have one barn stamp and it was in my NBUS box just waiting to make a debut!

Serendipity makes and sells this stamp.

I stamped it with Pumice Stone Distress ink and let it dry.

I colored the barn by putting some ink on my palette and picking up
color with a water brush.

When the ink was dry, I stamped again with VersaMark and embossed
with heat and clear embossing powder.  Then I could do a wet
on wet wash for the sky without the ink from the design running.

The wreath was made by stamping a tiny snowflake stamp with green ink.
I used punches to make it into a wreath.

Some chunky Frantage added some texture and a snowy scene.

I'm also going to add this to the gallery at
CAS Christmas where Christine is hosting.

I think this will go to my nephew who farms.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Barn and Windmill (Serendipity), Christmas Treasures (Wish)
Ink:   Pumice Stone, Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, Pine Needles (DI), VersaMark
Paper:   Mixed Media (St), Neenah
Other:  Water Brush, Clear EP, Chunky Frantage EP (Stampendous)

This is such a heartfelt card for me. I was raised on a farm with a barn that looked just like this...minus the wreath, of course. What a beautiful job you did coloring the scene. And the creative solution to making the wreath just the size you needed. Wow, did you create some memories for me this morning. Going to a big family reunion soon...guess meant to be.

Love me a big, beautiful red barn! So this card is right up my ally. Barns are just so beautiful to me and I am loving this image you used. You have water colored it so well Bonnie. I love how you made the barn the focal point on this card as well and I love that sky. Makes for a beautiful card. Hugs, Brenda

The red barn, so vivid and perfectly Christmassy. Such a beautiful stamp too and loving the sepia allure you brightly gave it, punched up with bright colours. Your snowflake wreath is genius! xx

Gorgeous Barn scene, Bonnie. I love how you colored your barn red to make it stand out and then colored the rest of the scene in a light neutral brown. A really stunning scene my friend. TFS Hugs..

Fantastic Christmas scene with a barn, Bonnie...I must say Serendipity does come through with many delightful images...I am beginning to collect a few! I love your card and how you explained how you mastered the coloring not running into each other. Thank you for joining us at Merry Monday this week!

Oh my gosh I love this and now will have to buy a griddle. I can't get over how fabulous the gold and white together look! I hesitated getting a griddle only because I did not want to invest in more powders. This is fantastic, along with your incredibly beautiful design.

Until I read the post, I thought this was an Art Impressions set. Splendid coloring of a heartwarming winter farmscape. The frontage snow looks fabulous, and this is such a 'calming' vintage scene. TFS & have a great weekend. Hugs

Wow, what a stunning winter barn scene, Bonnie! I love this card - the blue washed sky, the red barn with the green wreath, and the chunky Frantage snow. All the elements are beautifully joined together. Your watercoloring is simply beautiful and so inspiring! I'd love to try stamping an image with Pumice Stone, clear heat-embossing it and watercolor some day. Hideko xx

I love barns and have several paintings hanging on my wall but not one barn stamp. I love this one, Bonnie. No wonder it was a winner at Merry Monday.
