We're starting a new challenge at
CAS Watercolour
This month Marcia is our host and she's chosen...
one of my very favorite flowers!
I used my favorite watercolor technique to do this sweet flower.
I placed the stamp in my MISTI and first inked the stem with a marker,
pressed on my mixed media paper, moved the color on the paper with a
damp water brush and stamped again.
I used the same technique with a Mini Distress pad for the flower,
adding some darker ink to the base of the petals with markers.
When I was happy with the flower, I used the small end of a
Gathered Twigs Distress Marker and dotted the center, then blended
the color with my water brush.
The background wash was done by pulling the color from the
flower with a very damp water brush. I dropped some pink in the wash
by swiping color on my palette and picking it up with a wet water brush
and touching it to the wet background.
Our Design Team have outdone themselves with inspiration pieces this month.
We have a new Designer, Jenny. I hope you'll give her a warm welcome.
And we're joined by Izzy as our fabulous Guest Designer.
I'm excited to see a beautiful array of watercolor sunflowers
in the gallery this month.
More inspiration: DH brought me these for my birthday.

Enjoy!
