Hello friends.
I'm having a great time using the ombre technique.
Another card from our retreat.
bleach technique. I love this stamp but I don't know where it came from or
Friend's Forever. (Thanks Colleen). It doesn't seem to be available now
which is a shame because I would love to have this set.
Money saved!
With Linda's instruction and those blending brushes, I was able to get a rich,
smooth background for the first time ever!
We stamped and heat embossed an image.
I loved the open flower but it kept calling to me to use bleach on it.
So I did and was I sorry!
I think I was too heavy handed with it or didn't blot fast enough.
I thought I'd ruined the whole piece.
But then I remembered that Susan had said we could go back in and
watercolor over the bleached part.
So with nothing to lose, I pulled out my watercolor pencils and a damp
waterbrush and went to work.
I think I saved it.
I hope I can save the other sample I did, but that was
enough stress for one day!
There's still a couple of days to join in at
CAS Mix Up
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Hi Bonnie! I love what you did with the two techniques! And I know this stamp, it is Clearly Besotted called Friends Forever! I am so glad you saved it because you achieved the perfect look with those flowers, the shading is just awesome! I am going to remember this and give it a try!!

Very beautiful card using these two techniques Bonnie. I love the blended pinks ... such a gorgeous background for this lovely image. I don't know what it looked like just bleached, but is so pretty with the soft colouring you've added. Great save!! xx
Love this ombre look with the DOX inks. Beautifully done background to set off that beautiful stamp.
Wonderful combination of the two techniques! You definitely mastered the bleach and then watercolour technique - the colours you put back into the flowers and leaves are beautiful and perfectly done!
This is just gorgeous, Bonnie! Love that you bleached it and have shaded it beautifully with a soft pink. What an impact that has. Your background is beautifully blended too and that's not always easy.
This is so pretty, Bonnie! The color combination is beautiful and the ombre (sponging) is so smooth. I have no idea what it looked like before watercoloring on the bleached parts, but you did something right. The tulips look so elegant and delicate, and I love the soft pink!
