A couple of months ago our Craft Group added alcohol ink to
embossed Duck Tape.
Our demo leader had mounted Duck Tape on cardstock and dry embossed it
for us to work on.
We added alcohol ink over the top and were then to trim off the cardstock
edges. I liked the look so I didn't trim.
It took a while to figure out what I wanted to do with the piece.
It kept whispering to me "globe".
Then the whispers got louder and finally I listened.
I've had this stamp and die set in my NBUS box for quite a while. It
was way past time to use it.
I die cut the globe and stand from a snippet of brushed silver cardstock
and added it over a circle cut from a piece in the background box.
(I have boxes and boxes of stuff I need to use!)
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed
with Pewter Embossing Powder.
I thought it was a good match for the embossed design and I have
another masculine card for my stash.
Hooray for another way to use Duck Tape!

How cool is this? This looks like something I have to try! Love the texture this added and that globe is fantastic. Even the print you used behind it is so perfect. Outstanding card and so creative.
Shut the front door! How cool is that duck tape embossed and alcohol inked?!! And duck tape comes in every color imaginable, although I am loving the silver color coming through. I imagine other colors would be pretty too. That globe is awesome, love the background paper you chose to go behind it. Love this card, a great masculine card for sure! Hugs, Brenda

Hmmm. Do I have any duct tape? Other than red and black that is. I sure want to try that technique, Bonnie. Maybe even without the alcohol ink. The leftover background piece was perfect for the world and the entire card is such a great masculine design.
Oh my gosh...duct tape??!! NEVER would have thought to use it, but you can bet I'll be asking Chris for some tonight!! It looks amazing embossed and makes for a perfect masculine card! And I love the globe too, which fits in perfectly with the embossed duct tape! FABULOUS card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

What a clever idea Bonnie, and I think we have some black tape but this looks like silver which is better for adding AI's on to (will definitely be buying some) and the embossing is perfect, and love the die cut globe and the piece from your bits box is so pretty to go underneath..a wonderful masculine card. x

Who'd have thought, but the duct tape makes a great metallic piece with the AI, and altogether it's a fabulous masculine card!

The globe looks perfect with your embossed panel, well done for using it. I think that duck tape idea is pretty special, who would have thought of it. Obviously somebody did, I might have to give it a go xx
Are you talking about DUCT tape that we buy at a hardware store or is DUCK tape something a brand name of a type of tape? Confused! Fun card though and interesting idea!
Such a great effect that gave to the tape to be embossed and then use the alcohol inks, so cool!

How clever this is Bonnie! Lovely work. My last boss when I was working swore by duct tape and carried a roll of it everywhere - in his briefcase. Lo and behold, we had a work assignment for the EU in Cyprus - and it turned out that he'd even taken a roll of it in his hold suitcase for emergencies! I wonder if I should send him the link to your post? Smile.
