Two More Nordic Birds

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I hope you don't mind seeing some more of that Nordic Bird.
He keeps finding his way on my cards.

I was using up a package of patterned paper (I know, what a surprise that I've used it), and
thought it would do very well for this Nordic friend.

I cut the body from one side and the wing from the other.  I do love having coordinating
sides on the patterned paper.

I wanted to play at Freshly Made Sketches #716 where my friend Michele
designed this sketch...

I CASEd Michele's card using a different bird and a die cut circle.  The embossed
base was in my blue folder all ready to go.  And I added a bit of gold.

I had another bird so I went looking for another sketch since the two
special people getting these cards may see each others.

At CAS Colours & Sketches #575, they are asking for a Seasonal card using
any sketch from this year.

I chose Sketch #556 from September 2nd

I hope you are feeling the joy of the season.

Oh, Bonnie! I do love your Nordic bird! So pretty cut from that subtle patterned paper - it coordinates so well with the gorgeous gold! Do I spy with my little eye a new embossing folder?? Beautiful birds of a feather and what a wonderful time of year to share them!
Thanks so much for playing with my sketch this week, my friend!

You can post these Nordic birdies anytime you want Bonnie...I will NOT get tired of seeing them! I love the dsp you used on the birds too...thought it was ink blending till you mentioned the dsp. Great take on Michele's sketch on the first card and the 2nd one is just as beautiful...love them both!! Hugs. :0)

I recognized Michele's sketch right away and your colors, textures and gold accents made a beautiful card, Bonnie. I love the patterned paper strip on the second one. It left a perfect place for the wonderful sentiment.

Card number one may be a CASE of Michele's but your beautiful bird with hints of gold is a beauty!

Sorry, meant to continue that thought... your fun bird also pairs well with the second sketch -- it was meant to be!

That Nordic bird is a beauty, Bonnie, and I love how you used him in both sketches. He's set off beautifully on your FMS card with all that delicious embossing and you reversed his colors on the second card. Two beauties!

The two blue papers with this subtle pattern work brilliantly for your pretty bird Bonnie, and the two EF's used on the first, and then the one on the second all work so well and the strip of dp on the second also looks great, and you have come up with wonderful versions of each of the sketches too. x

These are the prettiest Nordic birds and they work so perfectly for each CAS sketch! It's fun to see the bit of designer paper, and the textured backgrounds are lovely. Bonnie, just adding a note to say thank you for such a pretty Christmas card. You know I love birds, wreaths, woodgrain... each card you send is collectable and worthy of display.

Such a perfect bluebird for your seasonal card, Bonnie! Love how you've used the patterned paper with the sentiment, too! Thanks for sharing with us in our seasonal challenge at CC&S
