Fruit of the Spirit

This is one of my favorite Bible verses.

You see I have a terrible time memorizing things.

When I need to keep from giving in to a bad habit,
I try to remember this in perfect order.
By the time I have to look it up, I've forgotten about that bad habit.
For the time being.....

I like to keep the verse handy so I can find it quickly and easily.

When I quit smoking, I carried it in my pocket for months.

I'll share this card at One Layer Simplicity where I haven't played in ages.
The challenge this month is art.
I used watercolor as my art medium.

I painted another and matted this one.

Just Us Girls Challenge
Love those watercolor challenges!

I stamped both with Antique Linen Distress ink
and colored with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Oh, Bonnie, this card so touches my heart. I have this verse taped on my bathroom mirror so I see it every morning...have the same situation with trouble memorizing but wanting to live this everyday. Beautiful card and beautiful reminder! Thank you.

Beautiful coloring on that amazing pear! I love how you stamped the Bible verse over the top of it and the splatters/speckles finish this off beautifully. Thanks for playing with us at JUGS!

I am a huge lover of pears. As for bible verses, there are many that I could call my favorites. This is one of them. Both cards are great.

Hugs and Blessings,
Jim

Two stunning cards Bonnie - but I personally like the un-matted one the better of the two. I know what you mean about memorizing scripture correctly!!

Boy - that is a lot to have in one pear!!! Can I just concentrate on one trait at a time.
Your pear is beautiful!

Love both versions. Great shading on the pear and the splatters complement it beautifully.

So glad you were able to quit smoking. That's a great verse to help inspire you.

Two more very pretty cards. One of my favorite verses as well, but I don't remember it all ever either.

Bonnie, this is one of my favorite verses as well...so very useful and helpful for getting through life making wiser, spirit-filled choices. Both cards are lovely, but YOU KNOW I love the one-layer one especially. The subtle score lines add a lovely frame, and the speckling is perfect. Thanks for sharing this with the One-Layer Simplicity challenge!
