I recently watercolored some long ago stamped pieces.
I painted this little guy as what we refer to as a LBJ (Little Brown Job).
We're using corrugated cardboard this month at
CAS Mix Up
so I added a cardboard mat and heart.
I really like the added texture and color of the cardboard
on this card.
My mixed media are stamping, corrugated cardboard, watercolor,
distressed edges, tearing and dry embossing.
Here's another card using this stamp.
this time it's a chickadee.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Two beautiful little birds Bonnie. What a clever stamp. It looks so pretty watercoloured and I really like the corrugated card on the first card. Barbxx
What a versatile little bird stamp. Clever colouring and do so like the corrugated card as a background...finishes your LBJ off nicely x
Love how you framed the image with the corrugated cardboard! Beautiful job painting it Bonnie!!
These are so sweet Bonnie! Love the rustic look finished with that great frame! Have a wonderful weekend my friend! Luv n’ Hugs. Hazel xx

Sweet! That bird is so adorable. The corrugated card really does add a lot of texture and dimension ... makes a great frame. And love the watercoloured chickadee ... we have lots of those around here. Love the sound they make ... chick - a - dee - dee - dee. :) xx
WE both go back a long way with SU Bonnie. I had to look..Touch of Nature has the date 2005 on this wood stamp :-) I have never thought to color the bird like a chickadee..thank you for the inspiration. Both cards are so different and so beautiful. I love your corrugated background and heart on your 1st card and your gorgeous coloring and framing on your 2nd card. TFS my friend...I left my stamp set out!! Maybe you will see me use this beautiful set in the future :-) Hugs...
Two great cards, Bonnie! Thanks for inspiring me to pull out that stamp set again. Love how you made the bird a chickadee. We have lots of them here in our yard.
I love birds, real or painted, and these are exceptional, Bonnie.
Two fabulous birds, Bonnie - both painted perfectly (especially the chickadee - you got him just right). Love the use of the corrugated cardboard for the first one!
Beautifully coloured birds Bonnie, Cathy x
Love both of your cards and the birds are colored beautifully. Love the corrugated heart & mat on your first card.
one of my favorite SU stamps, they are both so pretty.
Both cards are so well done! I love the use of the corrugated cardboard and the added heart- so perfect for Valentine's day! I have this stamp and maybe time to dust him off! Love it!
Good to see how different that precious birdie looks in different colors. These cards make me "think spring"....
Beautiful cards, love the corrugated paper under the first card, but BOTH are beautiful.

Oh these are both beautiful cards Bonnie! I love that little bird and I love how you used the corrugated cardboard on this card. I guess I need to get on that challenge before it closes!!! Gotta find me some corrugated cardboard! Love the watercolor background of your second card. Hugs, Brenda
Just beautiful! These birds could not be any more lovely - love the idea of the w/color bird on the corrugated paper too. Looks so very natural with the colors. TFS
Lovely, lovely cards Bonnie! Love the rustic touch the corrugated cardboard gives on your first card and both birds are colored just beautifully!! Well done on both of these my friend!! :0)
Two really gorgeous cards, Bonnie! I love how you added the corrugated mat and heart on the first one, and your CAS design on the 2nd card is so elegant! Thank you so much for always inspiring us with your beautiful designs!
I like the LBJ bird the best. We have many of them in the area. That corrugated cardboard sure brings out the nature feel for some reason.
Love that bird, perfect tones recalled by the brown corrugated card mat. The torn corner just adds to the beautiful relaxed watercoloring. The card base is a great finishing touch too! xx
Loving the birds and that brown corrugated cardboard behind. Very nature friendly!
