Christmas Baubles

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've made very few Christmas cards this year and now that
July is nearly over, it's past time to start.

When I saw that Christmas Kickstart is celebrating their 100th challenge,
I knew I needed to thank Jo for all the challenges she's put forth and that I've enjoyed.
This time she and her elf, Jo, are looking for spots, dots and circles.

I've had this stamp and die set in my NBUS box for over a year and it's
way past time to get it out.  And it has circles.

For my first card, I CASEd a card by Barbara Tarayao.
I stamped the ornaments with Antique Linen ink first and masked one to
stamp the second.  Then I added Candied Apple and Barn Door ink with a waterbrush.

All went well until I added some wash to the background.

It looked like these baubles were laying in a mud puddle!

My first thought was to toss the whole thing, but I wasn't unhappy with
the baubles.  So I got out my scissors and fussy cut the ornaments out.

I had that envelope of Christmas odds and ends sitting out and there were
some lovely embossed pieces that I had embossed when my friend Nance came
to visit last fall.

For a twofer, I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge #837
for a non-traditional Christmas card. (Oops.  Too late)

This time I die cut the baubles from colored cardstock and embossed the
poinsettias on each.  I used a Quickie Glue Pen over the embossed images
and sprinkled with fine glitter.

And a threefer.....

The baubles were cut from blue cardstock. I embossed and ink swiped two of them
with snowflakes and added a die cut snowflake on top.  I stamped and heat embossed
the sentiment on the third.  To add a bit of sparkle to match the toppers, I cut a circle
that's just a bit bigger out of glitter paper and a piece to mat the background too.

I'll join my friend Darnell at her NBUS #76 Never Before Used Schtuff
Also joining in Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. since the 4th Monday is Anything Goes.

Yeah!!! I beat everyone to the draw! Bonnie, you post cards faster than I can comment. Wonderfully festive. Of course my favorite one is the red and yellow one. And I really do like the soft frosted look.

Three fabulous Christmas cards with those lovely baubles. Glad you saved the red ones on the first card. Although blue is my favorite color, and I love the blue ornaments, I do love the rose and gold one best with those sparkly poinsettias on them.

It's hard to believe you didn't get these out long before this, Bonnie. They are great ornaments and you proved you can do so many different things with them. I love the ones with the embossed poinsettia.

These are such beautiful baubles, Bon! It's amazing how different each of them look and how very detailed you are with your designs! So much to look over! Good job saving that bright red first delight and thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking these in the gallery (and at NBUS) to brilliantly inspire others!📌Hugs, Dolly

Love them all, but especially the first one. It's so classic and elegant in the red and gold. The second one is great with the branches hanging down to really give the impression that they're hanging on a tree. And of course blue and white is always one of my favourite colour combinations!
