Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
This week's Freshly Made Sketches spoke to me after yesterday's news.
I've never made political statements on my blog before, but yesterday's news about the passing
of the outrageous bill has forced me to speak out.
I keep asking myself what I can do to keep the values that I treasure?
I can vote and I did. But that didn't seem to do any good.
I will continue to surround myself with people who care about all of our fellowmen.
And I will do more to feed the hungry...no matter what their nationality, and treat all
with dignity and respect.
Is that enough?
Probably not, but it's a first step.

Thanks. I agree with you...
Hello Bonnie.
I don't know what happened that people became obsessed with nationalism, and it's happening all over the world. Nationalism always leads to wars, and now this is being promoted. What happened to us, people, that we allow others to manipulate us like this??? I also try to avoid political statements, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. We are all equal and every person deserves respect. This is the Law of God and this is all we should follow. Everything else should be pulled out like weeds from our lives. Blessings to the good people.
xx
I think you know how I feel about the situation we find ourselves in and just cannot believe it's happening, Bonnie.
I applaud you for your honesty and love how you put your views to paper today. What a wonderful way to use that Sketch - thanks, my friend! x

Well said, Bonnie. It's a very sad birthday for America and it has been ... I don't want to get started, so I'll just say I agree and speaking up is the only way to make our voices heard. Your card is perfect for today and the sketch. United in frustration, Dolly
Your spoke your heart and mind, and I believe that is a powerful thing!
Your card is sheer perfection for that sketch, Bonnie. May you have a great 4th
Love the card AND your statement! It is a very scary time for our country. So distressing that these elected officials voted for a big ugly bill that steals from the poor and benefits the wealthy. How does one even sleep at night knowing this & voting for it?
Love your very patriotic card, Bonnie.
I feel as you do, Bonnie. It is a very sad Fourth of July. We all just need to speak up and do whatever we can. Crafting helps! Love the card. It says sit all.
That is such a great take on the sketch. Individual actions do make a difference, just imagine them multiplied by many of your fellow countrymen. It is the one thing we can still do when we feel powerless xx
Beautiful patriotic card Bonnie and a great take on the sketch.
What a FUN take on the sketch! Terrific card, Bonnie!
I have no words...well actually I have a lot...but none that will ever do justice to my feelings. Your card is spot on, and your post title evocative. Hugs and Love.
Here, here, Bonnie! We share the same values and so do many others. The big ugly bill will have far reaching effects and I won't even go on about it as all will be illuminated. The protests will continue and our vote may still matter when it comes to congress. Too many of them let this happen. I do what I can, same as you, and I continue to try and make my world as beautiful as possible. The visual of your card is striking.
You have definitely hit the nail on the head in both your card and your post Bonnie! I too never say anything on my blog or socail media about my political beliefs, but I definitely belong to the party of the lamb and NOT the party's that seem to be running our country today. Being a Christian and knowing how the story ends keeps me going, but oh the pain for so many that this big ugly bill will bring shatters me too! Thank you for speaking out!! Lots of hugs! :0)
Thank you for speaking out! I'm with you in what I do and for now it's all I can do, but we can't give up. We have a president who does whatever he wants and those with the power to change things seem afraid to do so. Your card is very patriotic.
It's a great take on the challenge, and one I totally agree with. It's hard to stay positive when everything seems to get worse and worse. Your creative statement against the tide is wonderful.
Great card and wonderful post! I worry to death these days about my grandkids growing up in this awful political climate!
Firstly this is a wonderful patriotic card and a great use of the sketch. Secondly, even though I live in New Zealand, I read with horror the never-ending litany of atrocious acts that seem to be committed with gleeful cruelty and I cannot understand how a group of people can be so callous and uncaring. I feel sorry for the good people in your country and I applaud your actions to do your bit. Hugs from NZ.
Thank you for sharing your heart and speaking out. I struggle with making patriotic cards now, because I don’t support what’s happening. But I want to support the people in need and those who are trying to stay positive. I love your creative take on this week’s sketch. Thanks for joining us at FMS!
Well said Bonnie! I think there are many who feel the same as you do. It’s a maddening time here and those of us who are like minded need to band together and show our solidarity. An appropriate card for the theme and the sketch! Congrats on your princess status!
A stunning card Bonnie!!
What a mad, mad world we are living in - things here are not a lot better at times, it seems. We need to turn back to God in humility....
Blessings
Maxine
