Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
What a glorious spring day as I write this!
This is not a flower that I'm very familiar with, but when I saw this
embossing folder, stencil combination, I was intrigued.
Then it was on sale and it caught me.
This was not my first try.
My first try almost convinced me to say no to
any more stencils! I seem to have an issue lining them up whether I emboss
first of after coloring.
So I stood up to line the stencil on the embossed image. It's still hard for me to
see, but it did line up better.
Will I be buying more embossing folder, stencil sets? Maybe.
Will I be comfortable using stencils eventually? Hopefully.
I used blending brushes and Distress inks for all the coloring.
I used the finer point of an Arteza Twi-marker for the stamens.

Very pretty. I think you did great with the stenciling. I know it is hard at times to get them lined up perfectly but they always seem to turn out fine as yours did here. Love the butterfly too.
Oh my, this is gorgeous, Bonnie. There are a variety of tricks to line up stencils so keep trying. This one looks pretty perfect to me.
I forgot to thank you for sharing this beauty with us at Just Us Girls.
I am in the same frame of mind when it comes to those stencil/emboss sets - though I admit to struggling with a few stencil sets, too, Bonnie. Just keep practicing! Looks like you are destined to become a pro looking at this gorgeous card! I love it! You'll have hummingbirds at your window if you put it there!

You're too hard on yourself Bonnie as this card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Lining up stencils can be a pain, but it will get easier as you go along. Watch some Laura Bassen or Carissa Wiley videos for lining up stencils...they both have wonderful tips. But anyway, your card is so pretty and I just love the colors you used and then surrounded by all the white...totally makes the Fuchsia's stand out! Beautifully done my friend!! Hugs. :0)
I love Fuchsias, got a few in the garden and these are so realistic, love what you have done. A gorgeous card. x
Fuchsias are so pretty...just like little ballerinas in their tutus, and these are beautifully coloured and the lining up has worked well here and I just love the colours you chose Bonnie and the rounded edge mat and scalloped layer underneath is the perfect look, and finished with a coordinating butterfly, and a lovely sentiment too,
Fuchsias are one of my favourite plants Bonnie and your card is so pretty!
I don't understand why you're so dissatisfied with the result? This card is gorgeous; I don't think you have the slightest problem with stenciling and embossing. You've created such amazing fuchsias! I love the colors you chose for them.
hugs,
BożenA xx
I think your stenciling is lovely and the card is just wonderful! The sweet butterfly and your scalloped matting are terrific too. Thanks for sharign this with us at Just Us Girls!
It might have been a challenge but it tunred out brilliantly. I hope you find the time and inclination to persevere. Thanks for your visit to me earlier xx
Stunning card. No one would know you had trouble lining this up, it looks perfect to me. Love the colors and the scalloped mat.
Yes, a really beautiful card you've done. I'm trying to get up to guts to try stenciling. TFS
It turned out really beautiful, so worth your efforts! So far, I find stencils are easier to use with stamped images than with embossed ones. But I'm going to keep trying to use mine.
I've wanted that set ever since I first saw it, but it went out of stock almost immediately. Luckily, it just came back, and I had a gift card that will cover it. Your beautifully stenciled card assures me it's a good purchase! No one would ever know you thought it was a challenge--just gorgeous!
