Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I used a NBUS die from Dee's Distinctively and a print making technique
to make this card.
I cut the bird from Arches cold press watercolor paper and laid it on a piece
of Mixed Media while I did some messy watercoloring. I love how it leaves some
matching colors for an Impressionist background.
I colored the bird with the colors from Color Hues and winked his wings to
give the feeling of movement. To finish I added a die cut
hibiscus for the hummer to zoom in on.
The textured background is the inside of the cover from a mixed media pad.
Challenges:
Color Hues #41 - Aqua & Red

WOW...this is BEAUTIFUL Bonnie! You do that print making background so beautifully, and the hummer with his sparkly wings is just gorgeous! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
I never did get a handle on that technique, Bonnie - but I'm so happy to just ohhh and ahhhh when you do it!
LOve this sweet little red and aqua hummer - ours are back but they might be sorry as it's been so chilly!
You recycle so beautifully, my friend!

What a fabulous job you did designing this, Bonnie! Love the soft colors of the humming bird, that wonderful background and the die cut blossom! Outstanding!!!! I have never successfully done a background with that technique but sure do love the way it looks.
I spy a winner, Bonnie. I love how painting the images on MM paper left a wonderful watercolor background to put them one. I haven't put up my feeder at the lake yet. We had frost warnings last night so I'm waiting until it warms up.
I just adore your gorgeous card Bonnie, such a stunning CAS creation it is too. Sorry I am so late returning comments too....health issues again, hugs Viv xx
This is so beautiful. I love your print and that bird is such a gorgeous color.
Just love the hummingbird and matching print, Bonnie - so gorgeous!!
PS - delighted to see birdie at NBUS too!! Linda, May Guest Designer :)
I love the way you have all the colours in the background! And what a beautiful hummingbird die - you really did it justice with that flash of red on its throat, just like the hummingbirds in my garden! Gorgeous card all round!
This is one beautifully put together card. The watercolor wash is such a delight under the bird and flower.
This is such a pretty card, Bonnie! It's simple but it really packs a punch. I put our feeder up a couple of weeks ago and our hummers are back!

The pretty die cut hummingbird and hibiscus flower look great done in these two wonderful colours of Aqua and red Bonnie, and love the print making technique colouring them over the piece of background card which has made a beautifully random background and what a great idea to use the inside cover of the mixed media pad which has some really lovely texture. x

This is gorgeous! I almost can't believe you could have made such a perfect background panel by watercolouring your hummingbird on it. Brilliant! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
I had to stand in line behind all the other commenters(kidding) just to say how great this card is, but it was worth the wait...it's beyond CAS and beautiful. I just love it!

Absolutely beautiful, Bonnie! That's the prettiest background so simply made and of course it's perfectly coordinated with your hummingbird. I also love that you made use of the pad cover. Waste not want not!
Wow, this is stunning, Bonnie! I LOVE the Impressionist background! The soft and light shadowy pattern is perfect show off the beautiful hummingbird and hibiscus. Great use of the inside cover from a MM pad! (I thought you dry-embossed using Tasteful Textile.)

I can't believe I have such a big delay in commenting !!! Sorry, time is passing so fast and my responsibilities at work and at home are too demanding for me.
I love the cute hummingbird and the beautiful hibiscus flower. The background, on the other hand, is stunning !! It is perfect, the splashes of color wonderfully combine with the bird and the flower to create a perfect whole
