Purple and Artichoke for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues.

This month Sheri picked our colors.  She chose....

I die cut and watercolored one of my favorite flower dies from Canson watercolor paper
and colored with re-inkers.  I really like these colors together, especially for flowers!

A two layered Elegant frame over a piece of embossing made a good
place to mount this flower.

Now let's go and see what my talented friends and our
fantastic Guest Designer Amanda have done to inspire you.

I hope you'll create a card using Purple & Artichoke and add it to the gallery at

Challenge ends at 9:00 AM on September 29th.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Most importantly, just have fun!

Edited to add: Thanks Darlene

A white background is a great way to showcase a beautiful flower such as the one you watercolored, Bonnie. The bonus is all the interest with the lovely double embossing and the frame, giving the flower a perfect landing spot. So, so gorgeous!

The beautifully coloured purple and green die cut flower looks great over the contrasting embossed textures of the background and the pretty shaped panel behind it Bonnie, and in white a perfect contrast, and finished with a lovely stamped and die cut sentiment. x

You know I'm a fan of CAS designs, and this is a wonderful one! Using one embossing folder inside the frame and another for the background was a brilliant idea! One classy card!!!

This card is a truly intricate little gem. I love the embossed flowers in the background, beautifully enclosed within an elegant frame, and that purple flower completes the card, fitting the color challenge perfectly. A beautiful, beautiful card, my dear Bonnie.
