Heat Embossing for CAS Mix Up

Time for a new CAS Mix Up challenge

This month's challenge is

I used Stamping, Heat Embossing, Sponging and Die-cuts.

I used this awesome technique by Svitlana.

You'll find this video and others at the CAS Mix Up challenge site.

I left one unadorned to show the technique better.

I stamped the fern with VersaMark on Mixed Media paper and clear embossed.
Then I sponged some Shabby Shutters distress ink over the whole piece.

I repeated the process with another leaf but sponging with Peeled Paint.

Finally I stamped some leaves in the Peeled Paint and splattered a little water over the whole piece.

The sentiment is heat embossed too.

I also used the Embossed Resist technique on the sentiment for the second card
and sponged with the Peeled Paint.

This was a really fun technique and I love the different shades of green.

By cutting the piece in half, I got 2 CAS cards.

We have 2 new fantastic Design Team members.

Dear Friend

I used Loll's Watercolor Splash Technique for the background of this card.

I stamped the flowers n the background and messed them up
decided that I needed to add some dimension.
So I stamped the flowers again on a snippet of watercolor paper,
watercolored, fussy cut them out and added them atop with dimensionals.

The punched butterfly is coated with Inka gold.
Love that shine!

For the card base I used a Lil' Inkers die and embossed it
instead of cutting it.

There's a Linky Party going on at Virginia's View.

Virginia is asking for a newly created card with a theme of

"miss you", "hello"...any types of friendship card.

Stencil x3 for CAS Mix Up April Challenge

I used my favorite Scraped Paint stencil again.

Can you tell that it's my favorite?

I used another stencil and sponged a bit of color on a tag.

Before I removed the stencil, I stamped that pretty fern over it.

Then I took a snippet of some heated copper from my dear friend Loll,
punched a couple of butterflies and dry embossed them.

Some crinkled ribbon finishes it off.

Lots of mixed media techniques and still CAS

Awesomely Artistic Friend

Full Definition of friend

  2. 2a :  one that is not hostileb :  one that is of the same nation, party, or group
  3. 3:  one that favors or promotes something (as a charity)
  4. 4:  a favored companion
I have a lot of awesomely artistic friends!

I'm very thankful for each and every one of them too.

That includes you.

For this card I used 2 great Stampin' Up! sets,
Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly Basics.

The fern from the Butterfly Basics set was stamped off first
to give some depth to the design.

The dragonfly was stamped on vellum and heat embossed
and also stamped on the design piece.

I ussy cut his wings out of the vellum and adhered them in the center
so they would lift up.

I confess that I pulled out some retired colors for this.

It was like playing with old friends.

I'm going to enter this at

More Home Decor

I bought some little canvases at one of the craft stores.

They were on sale.

Very cheap.

Unfortunately  they were coated with something that water wouldn't penetrate.

Solution....

I cut watercolor paper to fit,
did a watercolor wash on the background,
stamped and painted the images.

I hope the paper sticks for a long time.

Since little things on the table end up getting knocked off,
I hung them in the dining room
opposite this art.

What do you think?

They actually hang straight.

I'm going to take them over to

ANYTHING GOES

and

NO ORDINARY PAPER
I used watercolor paper on the canvas.

I'm so glad you could stop by.

I appreciate all your comments.

I'll catch up to you very soon.
I hope....

Enjoy!

Masking Butterfly Basics for ATCAS

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Harriet is our hostess this week and this is what she chose....

We have a new Guest Designer for this month, Ellen Parker (In a World of Craft).

I can't wait for you to see what she designed for this challenge!

And as always, the rest of the Design Team has outdone themselves!

Our sponsor this week is

Inspired by Stamping

giving a $20 gift voucher to our winner.

To make this card, I inked the flower from the new Butterfly Basics (SU) set
with Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on a piece of Whisper White.

I huffed on the stamp and stamped again in the background.
(Second generation stamping.)

I stamped the flowers on a sticky note and fussy cut that out
to use as a mask.

Placing the mask over the stamped flowers, I stamped the fern,
which had been inked with a Wild Wasabi Stamin' Write marker.

I swiped the markers on a plastic lid and picked up some color
with a Blender Pen and lightly added some color to the inside
of the flowers and around and between the flowers to.
I liked that watercolor look.

Now it's your turn.
I can't wait to see what you create.

(our sister challenge)
is
ANYTHING GOES

Thanks so much for your visit and your lovely comments.

Enjoy!
