Sweet Friendship

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I did some more strawberry cards while I had that die set out.

The strawberries were cut from mixed media paper and colored with Stampin' Up inkpads.
I smoosh the ink into the inside of the cover and pick up with my waterbrush.

I used a white gel pen to lighten the seeds and then topped them off with a
Neon Yellow Sharpie.

And one more....

This time I cut them from a light green cardstock and used blending brushes to
add color.  A touch with a barely damp waterbrush blends the color.

I've had this burlap die in my NBUS box for who knows how long!
It has finally made it's debut.

This sentiment stamp was inked with markers, huffed and thankfully
stamped well first try.

Strawberries

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's strawberry season around here.  Fresh strawberries are always
welcome in our house and we've been eating a lot of them lately.

It reminded me of a die set that had been in my NBUS box for a couple of years.
My talented friend Leslie enabled me to buy this set when I saw
her strawberry card back in 2023.

I die cut from mixed media paper and watercolored using Stampin' Up ink pads.
I squished the color in the lid and picked it up with my waterbrush to color.

After it was dry, I used a white gel pen for the seeds and let that dry, then
touched it with a Neon Yellow Sharpie.

A little sponging with darker ink around the edges gave them some depth.

I had an embossed piece left from this card and used the same sketch.
This time I used a hexagon die cut instead of a circle and the vines instead of
that scallop strip.  I hope it's okay to take some liberties with the sketch.

Challenges:
Allsorts #822 - Inspired by a song (Strawberry Fields Forever by the Beatles)
I.D.E.A.S. - Week 1 ink (used as watercolor)
Inkspirational #340 - Seasonal (spring here)
NBUS #74 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Golden Ornament

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

We are having a taste of Fall here in central NC.
And that means that Christmas is right around the corner!

Time to "get 'em done"!

I used a retired embossing folder and die for the pine branches here, coloring both
with a sponge dauber and two shades of green ink.

My favorite ornament was die cut and a glittery snowflake popped on top
adds some sparkle to the shine.

Challenges:
CAS Christmas - Sparkle and/or Shine: I have both here.

Merry and Aqua

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Just a reminder that there's still time to join in at CAS Mix Up.

Here's a little inspiration for you.

This background was in my UFO box.  I vaguely remember stamping with one of
my friend Nance's background stamp and heat embossing.

It looked like linked Christmas ornaments to me so I took it in that direction
and lightly sponged some Peacock Feathers ink over an area in the middle,
fading out to the edges.

I found a snippet of watercolor smoosh in my background box and die cut an
ornament from it.  The ornament was then covered with Nuvo Crystal Glaze

My mixed media are stamping, heat embossing, sponging (emboss resist), and die cutting.

The challenge this month at CAS Mix Up is for mixed media using
emboss resist.  Our very talented host is Nancy and she and the rest of the team
have some fabulous inspiration cards to share with you on the challenge site.

I used the rest of the watercolor smoosh snippet to cut another ornament for a twofer.

This background was also in my UFO box.   I think this was from Nance too.
This time I added a gold die cut topper and a different die cut Merry.

Challenges:
CAS Mix Up - Emboss resist plus stamping and one other mixed media
Peace on Earth #21 - ATG Christmas (inspired by the mood board below)

Purple, Gold & White for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm excited to be Guest Designing for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

To get my deep purple, I die cut the ornament from Gorgeous Grape cardstock,
smooshed it on my VersaMark pad, sprinkled clear powder and heat embossed.

I also used it around the edge of another piece of cardstock and embossed to use
as a piece of matting.

The sentiment is embossed with gold.

How would you use these colors?
I hope you'll join in at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

Other Challenges:

Christmas Craft Creations - Heat Embossing
Krafty Chicks - Christmas
Merry Little Christmas -  Anything Goes
