Sweet Friendship

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I did some more strawberry cards while I had that die set out.

The strawberries were cut from mixed media paper and colored with Stampin' Up inkpads.
I smoosh the ink into the inside of the cover and pick up with my waterbrush.

I used a white gel pen to lighten the seeds and then topped them off with a
Neon Yellow Sharpie.

And one more....

This time I cut them from a light green cardstock and used blending brushes to
add color.  A touch with a barely damp waterbrush blends the color.

I've had this burlap die in my NBUS box for who knows how long!
It has finally made it's debut.

This sentiment stamp was inked with markers, huffed and thankfully
stamped well first try.

Ginkgo Happiness

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Did you know that the Ginkgo tree is believed to be a living fossil and a symbol
of peace, hope and vitality?  According to Google that's the case.

It seemed to me that it was perfect paired with this Irish blessing.

I found this blessing as a digi image at Etsy, since I didn't have a stamp with it.

The ginkgo was die cut from watercolor paper and I used Distress re-inkers and
a waterbrush to color it.  There are two pieces to each leaf so I used a darker color
on the base and lighter color on the top piece.

Since the sentiment was already printed on the cardstock, I let it sit for a day to
make sure the ink was good and dry, then embossed the whole piece.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - Use an embossing folder - twist of Lucky or St. Patrick's Day
Just Us Girls #766 - Word Week - Green
Word Power - Make the sentiment the focus of the card

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Irish Blessing Digi (Crafty AKel)
Ink:   Rustic Wilderness, Twisted Citron
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Mixed Media (Strathmore)
Other:  Sealed Ginkgo (SB), Burlap EF (HB)

Love and Laughter

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Another card done with leftovers from my last class.

The card my friends did had red flowers on vanilla.

I had a piece of die cut background I'd tried in white and decided against
using it.  So I did a little bit of ink blending with ink left on a blending brush
and added the die cut to it.

I had in mind to use this as an anniversary card for my brother and SIL and
my SIL is a blue gal.  So I went with blue flowers.

I love that my Valentine Class yields anniversary cards too.

Diane and Darlene have a new challenge!  These ladies are amazing!
This time they challenge us to use our neglected stuff.
The die cut in the background has been hanging around since 2021. I may have
used it once or twice.  I'm glad I kept it around though.

Challenges:
Word Power - Make the sentiment the main focal point of the card
The Neglected Stuff - Using stuff we've had an not used for awhile.

Here's a picture of the card my friends did..

Peace on Earth

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

When Michele came, she brought lots of Betterpress Plates.
I did a lot of pressing!  Here's the results from one of the plates.

Actually it results from two of the plates.  The trees were pressed with a LDRS
press plate, die cut and popped up with foam tape.  I've used chunky embossing
powder, heated from underneath to make a snowy scene.

Of course I had to press another and it resulted in my favorite.

I pulled out my Nativity dies and this was in the envelope.  It was done long ago
and not used.  What a nice surprise and a perfect fit.

Challenges:
Word Power #9 - Make the sentiment the focus of the card
Sparkles #164 - Make the sentiment the focus

Follow Your Heart

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I will apologize in advance.  This is from a retired stamp.

My friend Julia sent me a beautiful birthday card last year that had this quote on it.
What wonderful words to live by!

I've been hunting for the stamp since then and finally found it on Ebay.
I am excited to say that it is the real thing and didn't look like it had ever been used.

The magnolias were in my UFO box and almost made it into the trash.  But they worked
great as a background for the lovely quote.

The magnolias were stamped with Memento Toffee Crunch ink and colored with Zigs.
The quote was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with clear powder.

This seems so appropriate right now as the magnolias (tulip trees) are in full bloom.
Something new and beautiful opens up each day in the spring.

Challenges:
Word Power #3 - Making the sentiment the focus of the card

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Follow Your Heart (ret IO), Magnolia Blossoms (MFT)
Ink:   Memento Toffee Crunch, Versafine Onyx Black
Paper:   Mixed Media, Neenah Solar White, Black
Other:  Zigs (28 Pale Pink, 81 Lt. Violet, 64 Oatmeal, 51 Lemon Yellow), Clear EP

Enjoy!
