Generation Stamping with Group of Seven Cardmakers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This month, the Group of Seven is stretching the inking with generation stamping
(sometimes called second generation stamping, repetitive stamping or stamping off).

It's such an easy technique to get depth in a design.  Once I got started, I
kept on going.  I apologize for the long post.

This is actually the second card I did.  I stamped the leaves on mixed media paper
so I could use my waterbrush to get a watercolored look.  I inked the leaves and
stamped three more times without reinking, then smoothed the color with water.
For the "background" leaves, I was careful to keep cleaning my brush to
keep them lighter.

This was my first attempt with this stamp.  I had the brilliant idea to add splatters.
It didn't look good with the daisy so I set it aside.  After a day or so, it looked
better but still not good with the daisy.   This butterfly that was in the UFO butterfly
box worked much better.

This card was done with a two part stamp (leaves and bloom).  Again I
stamped multiple times without reinking.  I have the die for these little
flowers but I thought the freesia die cut looked better.  The little ones got
lost with all the flowers in the background.

Last is my least favorite but I decided to share it anyway.

Do go over to the Group of Seven blog and see what my creative friends have
done with this technique.  There are links to videos showing this technique and
Loll has added some good instructions.

Stencil Monoprint with Group of Seven Cardmakers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This month the Group of Seven Cardmakers are using stencil monoprint
as our technique.

I have a very light monoprint background.  I blotted the piece after pressing the
monoprint onto the paper.

Since I had this pumpkin die out and wanted to join in at Color Hues,
a pink pumpkin seemed to be in order.  Emmy loves pink so this will go to her.

I was surprised when I Googled pink pumpkins that there are such a thing!
Who knew?  Certainly not me, but I think it's a terrific idea!

I used another stencil and purple ink for the next card.

Again, I blotted the print after pressing it to the paper and got a very light piece.
It's framed with die cut frames that Michele brought to share.

The Alstroemeria die cut was in the envelope and colored with Distress inks.

If you're interested in trying this technique, there are directions and video links on
the Group of Seven website.
The rest of the gals have some fantastic samples so I hope you'll check them out.  There's
also a linky there if you'd like to share something you've made using this technique.

I have more cards in the works using this technique.  I'll be back with them later.
