Farewell Field Flowers

I'm sad to say that the Field Flowers set is being retired.

I like them in blue.

And in yellow.

This set is still available in wood.

But just until June 4th.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Field Flowers Bloom

It's been a while since I took the Stenciling Class
and I haven't used what I learned nearly enough.

I had a few minutes and thought I'd give it a whirl.

The stenciling is Celery Green and I can't seem to get it not to look muddy.
IRL it looks very Springy.

I used my Moroccan Lattice Stencil and softly sponged
Certainly Celery ink over some of it.

The flower was in my UFO box-a leftover from a calender.
I fussy cut it out.

I colored a butterfly that was already stamped, punched it out
and layered it on a butterfly punched from a snippet of Daffodil Delight.

The beautiful sentiment is from Verve.
It's a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff)

is one I haven't participated in for quite a while.
It's such a worthwhile challenge and I wish I had more time to play.
This week's cards are for a fellow SCS friend, Kathleen Lammie
I know Kathleen from her encouraging comments on my cards
and as she's facing this difficult time, I want her to know
that she is in my thoughts and prayers.

is full of yellow this time.
So many beautiful butterflies there.

is the place to go for a friendly spin on the merry go round.
I used snippets for my butterfly and flower.

is to use a stencil on our cards.
This challenge seems to be immensely popular.
So much inspiration in that gallery.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Fielding Blue

This card uses 3 of the colors that Stampin' Up! will be retiring on June 1st.  I have to say, I'm really sad about these three and a couple of others too.  But I'm really happy with the new colors and I can still use my stash of retiring ones.

Today I'm using Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and River Rock.

The CAS Challenge at SCS this week is a sketch that won my CAS heart at first glance.

And the Tuesday Color Challenge, also at SCS is Quite a River Breeze (see colors above).

Addicted to CAS's Code word is

And Simon Says Stamp's  ANYTHING GOES challenge.

Featuring Sue

The Featured Stamper at SCS this week is Sue (aka suen).  I had a hard time deciding which of her lovely cards I wanted to CASE.  I think I'll be CASEing more of her cards in the days to come.  This is Sue's lovely card that I CASEd this time.

Here's what I came up with.

I used the same stamp set but used just the large flower.  I stamped the flower 3 times and cut each out. Then I used the Paper Tole technique on the flower.  I used a white background, different embossing folder and ribbon and different sentiment.  I put some micro beads in the center. I'm not sure I really like them there, but there's no going back now!

Addicted to Stamps and More is looking for CLEAN AND SIMPLE cards this week.

CAS on Sunday    Challenge #3 - Happy Birthday!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge since this has a Bit of Green.

Featuring Field Flowers

Here's some flowers for the Featured Stamper at SCS this week.  Her name is Vicki (vdm) and, my oh my, I could have CASEd her whole gallery!  But since I only had time for one, this is the one I chose.

I used different colors, punch and sentiment and also added a butterfly.

I used some Faux Flower Soft in the center. (Recipe below)

Happiness with Love

The Less is More challenge this week is a RECIPE

We have a very simple recipe this week and that is simply to make a card which is
NOT A SQUARE
nor a rectangle for that matter.
What we're really trying to say is that we want a shaped card.

I decided to use my Labels Collection Framelit dies.  I'd been wanting to try a shaped card with them and hadn't got around to it.  Nothing like a challenge to spur me on.

I was thinking of last weeks One Layer Wednesday challenge to do something sweet.  What's sweeter than a rose.  Well, chocolate is, but I don't have a chocolate stamp. (I'd give you the link, but whenever I try to get to that blog, I get a virus warning.  Not sure what that means, but I think I'll stay away from there for a few days.)  Here's the link for this week's One Layer Wednesday Challenge.

And the CAS challenge at SCS is LOVE., hence this sentiment.

I shaped the card by folding the card before diecutting and placing the fold inside the edgelit so it wouldn't cut the top.  (You probably already knew that, right?)  I snipped off the point at the bottom too, so it would sit straight.

I used markers to ink the flower then a blender pen to spread the color and add a little more color in some spots.

I thought it could use a frame, so I laid a smaller Edgelit on the front, and traced around it with a marker.  I need to work on that technique, since starting and stopping leaves little dots.  Hence the dots all around.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Happiness Shared, Field Flowers (sentiment)
Ink:  Wild Wasabi, SU Markers (Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose, Soft Suede, More Mustard)
Paper:  Whisper White
Other:  Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Blender Pen

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I always enjoy hearing from you.

Enjoy!
