Merry Monday Skates

It's Merry Monday time again.

Thank you all for joining in wishing LeAnne a
Happy Birthday last week.

This week the uber talented Nina chose our challenge.

I love this image and I had found a die on sale at
Archiver's when they were closing up.

Who could pass up 75% off?

Crafty time is as rare as hens' teeth around here lately.
It took 4 days to get this all together!

I die cut the skates from a snippet of white and a snippet of silver foil.
After cutting off some of the silver, and the blades from the white,
I adhered them together then lightly sponged around the
edges with Sahara Sand and colored the heel with a marker.

I used my paper piercer to poke the holes and threaded up
some DMC white embroidery floss and "laced" them up.

The DSP was a snippet left from a piece a friend gave me.
I have no idea of the maker.

I used the Stitched Mats Rectangles dies for all the layers
and used a snippet of that  retired Sage Shadow for the middle layer.

I stamped the banner from the retired
Take it to Heart set
with the sentiment from
More Merry Messages.

With all those snippets,
I'm going over to

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

I'm glad you were able to make this, Bonnie, even over a matter of days, because it's just divine! I really love that skate die and feel like it's truly time to get into making the Christmas cards when I see it used in Blogland! Your the first of this season and I thank you for the kick in the butt with your skates, lol!! Hugs, Darnell

Bonnie, your card is great, I really love silver blades and a bit worn look of the skate boots!

These skates are fabulous! They seem to pop right off the card. This is a stunning card.

I missed this one! How did that happen? Love the skates and those laces are such a cute attention to detail that makes you such a talented card artist. The stitched dies were perfect backdrops to the dangling skates. I keep asking myself - should I go for the smaller TH die - as I'd never use the large one. You're making me weaken, after seeing this pretty card. Well done! I'm feeling very festive, and it's 91F outside. TFS & Hugs

Wow, you got a great deal on that skates die. I love how you added the foil blades and laced them up with floss. Also love the banner with the sentiment. Great card.

What a beautiful job you did on this Christmas card! So many neat details...I can totally understand why it took you "days" to make this card. It often takes me several days to make one card, and It isn't even one half as detailed as your. All your time spent making this card was definitely worth it.
