Turning the Page January 2020

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post on the last day of each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our January page.

By the way, the calendars are clipped together and can be displayed on an easel

or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.

If you would like a word document with the calendar, email me
and I will be glad to send it to you so you can design your own.
Email link is on the sidebar.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Golden Thanks

Hello my crafty friends.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I used a Stitched Rectangle Die from Lil' Inker to emboss on the cards front.

Then I found a snippet of gold patterned paper that fit inside the rectangle and
cut an Alexandra Renke Magic Blossom from gold foil to add to the side.

Thank you for all your visits through the past year.
It's an honor to share my designs with you.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Let it Snow

Hello.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I know those of you who get lots and lots of snow will not
want to see this.  But here in NC we don't get much snow and it doesn't
stay long if we get some.

So I say...

The elements of this card all came from my UFO box.

There's a background made with the contents of a Lindy's Magical Shaker
sprayed with lots of water.

The die cut front didn't work for the original intention
and neither did the snowflakes.

I think this will make a good thank you card for my
sister-in-law who loves snow as much as I do.

I see there is still time left at
Craft Stampers Magazine Take It Make It Challenge

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

It's been fun!

The Woodland Branch die continues to be a favorite, especially
when this bright cardinal was ready to perch.

Hello friends.  I'm glad you stopped by today.

I have a threefer of butterflies to share with you today.
These are cards I'd done through the year and never got on my blog.

My butterfly was stamped and heat embossed on vellum and
colored on the back with Zigs and a barely damp waterbrush.

When it was dry, I fussy cut it and trimmed down a piece of dry embossed leaves for
him to perch on.  Then I framed it all in some gray "white space".

This card uses a sweet little butterfly stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

I had the die cut in my UFO box with the background all picked out.
The background was smooshed on cardstock with re-inker and frost white paint.
All it needed was this fussy cut butterfly and a sentiment to finish it off.
He's been heat embossed and watercolored.

I love it when I can use one of those UFOs!

This beautiful die cut butterfly was from a play with my friend Nance (Soul Stampin' Designs).

It makes such a Quick And CAS card when paired with a colorful background
with Lindy's Magicals splashed onto coated cardstock.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Christmas Wish

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2: 11

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Luke 2: 13-14

May your heart sing for joy in praise to God
for his boundless love.  And if this Christmas is
hard for you, May the peace of Christ comfort you
and surround you with his love.

Jeweled Bubble Tree

Hello friends.  Welcome to my blog!

Last Christmas I used this stamp to make framed pictures with
my craft group.  Then I made several more for gifts.

This particular piece had some wild gemstones that insisted
on falling outside the embossing and making a gluey mess!

So I cut around the tree and put it on another, smaller piece of black to
put on a Christmas card.

It was hand delivered!

Here's a picture of one of the framed pieces.

I see that Christmas Kickstart  is still open for joining in.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

not to Paris.

This stamp was a gift from a dear friend.

I've chosen to go very simple and stamped in grays and black,
adding just a hint of pale blue.

Two Christmas Trees

Hello there.  Are you finished with your Christmas cards?
Have you moved on and past the decorating?
My tree is up, but my granddaughter tells me it's missing the presents.

I need to start wrapping!

For this card, I've stamped on green cardstock that's been die cut with a
layered tree, sponged the edges and popped up the layers with dimensionals.

This Quick and CAS card was die cut and put over a piece
of green glitter paper.  I punched some tiny dots from red glitter paper
and inlaid them in some of the holes.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Guest Designing for Craft Stampers Magazine

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by today
and I'm so excited to share with you that I'm Guest Designing at
Craft Stampers Magazine!

I won their October Take It Make It challenge with this card.
They honored me with a Winner's Profile on this post.

Thanks so much to the talented gals at Craft Stamper Magazine!

Now about this card...

I've used Iced Spruce Distress Oxide inks smooshed on a craft mat
and splash it with some mixed media paper.

This beautiful lamp post was place in my MISTI and stamped with black ink.
When the ink was dry, I stamped again with VersaMark and heat embossed
it with clear powder.

I stamped the berries in the bottom corner and clear heat embossed them too
so they would be shiny.

I decorated the lamp post with some punched greenery and a little bow
and berries.

I hope you'll join the Take It Make It Challenge at
Craft Stampers Magazine.
You could be a future Guest Designer!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Angel, Angel

Hello crafty friends.  I hope you're having a crafty week.

I have a Twofer today.

First up.

I die cut this gal from a scrap of white cardstock then again from some tissue paper
that had been smooshed in watered ink.  After it was dry, I scrunched it up and touched
the wrinkles with Versamark, sprinkled on some gold embossing powder and heat set.
I thought it would make an interesting gown and slippers for my angel.

I used some snippets of gold foil for her head, wings and trumpet.  The wings looked
a little plain so I put them in my Subtle Embossing Folder and fixed that.

The strips are actually silver and have a nice shimmer.  A friend gave me
a bag full of these strips that were left over from a project she did.

For my twofer....

My second gal was die cut from White Glitter paper and again from gold foil.

I place the glitter cut a little off the gold and put her on a piece of watercolor
from my stash of backgrounds.

A few shimmery stars and a heat embossed sentiment finished this card.

I'm joining in with Christmas Kickstart Challenge #25

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
