Irresistible Peony

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I was excited to see that the Power Poppy blog has resumed it's card challenge!

It's called The Blossom Challenge and the very talented Christine is hosting
and she's asking for May Flowers.

Peonies bloom in May around here.  I have a few peonies in my yard, but since
the yard has become so shady, they don't do well.  However, one plant that's in front of my
bedroom window had five blooms this year.

I wish the pink ones bloomed like these!

Don't forget that Marcy is offering several spring flower digital stamps at 25% off.

Challenges:

Happy 14

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had a tough time coming up with a card with flowers and a number on it
for The Flower Challenge this month.

My granddaughter will be 14 her next birthday so I have a card made ahead of time.
I hope I don't forget...

This is a free digital stamp from Power Poppy.  I've printed the no-line version on
mixed media paper and used my Zigs and a waterbrush to color it.

The numbers were cut from the finished panel.  (It always makes me so nervous
to cut into a colored piece!)  I also die cut the numbers from a bit of foam so I
could raise the numbers up a bit.

A sparkly happy and stamped birthday finished it off.

Marcella is offering some of her Spring Digital Stamps at 25% off this month.
It's a great time to stock up on her beautiful images.

Challenges:
The Flower Chalenge - Use a Number

Spring Flowers for the Flower Challenge

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I hope you are feeling good and getting crafty.

I've been practicing Copic coloring with some of the Power Poppy Digital Stamps.
Marcella is having an awesome sale. Just sayin'....

I had so much fun coloring this image that I dropped a marker in
a place that there was obviously not supposed to be color.

So... I fussy cut the whole thing.

Since I had to cut all that background I'd colored, I colored up
another piece to put behind the cut out.

It took more effort than I'd planned, but it was worth
it in the end.

I liked it so much that I colored it again.

This time I didn't drop a marker!

It's kind of dramatic with the darker card base.

I like that I got two very different looks and used much the same colors.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Azaleas for CAS Watercolour

Hey there.  I'm so glad you dropped by!

I hope you're not too lonely with all this isolation.
I'm so thankful that I can keep in touch with my family and friends
through technology.

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Watercolour.
Susan is hosting this month and she chose...
Susan says: "I am looking for SPRING flowers - not just any flowers.
So please think snowdrops, daffodils, tulips, crocuses,
apple and cherry blossom, dogwood, etc."

Our azaleas are blooming right now and they're so pretty.
Almost every yard in our area has at least one azalea bush.

Here's another card using these azaleas.  I got a little carried away
and it isn't as CAS as it needs to be.  But I still like it and want to share it.

For both cards I've used a digital image from Power Poppy
and watercolored with my Zig markers and a waterbrush.

Our Design Team along with our Talented Guest Designer, Vicky have
wonderful examples of Spring flowers to inspire you.

I hope you'll check us out and share your watercolor Spring flowers with us at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Cup of Christmas for Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday time.

This week it's Deanne's turn to name the challenge.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's cards.
They'll make you feel all warm and toasty.

I printed this digi image several times on cardstock
and colored each with Copic markers.

I fussy cut the cup and gingerbread man and
added them on to create a bit of dimension.

The cup was clear embossed to give it some shine.

Now it's  your turn.

Hope to see you at Merry Monday!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Merry Blue Snowman

I've got my Merry Monday card done for this week.

Here's the sketch Leslie gave us.

Want to take a look at what I did?

I used a digital stamp by Torico (Birdie Brown).  It was a freebie a year or so ago.  I think he's one of the cutest snowmen I've ever seen.  I colored him with Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango markers and punched him out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. I used the Indigo marker to color around the edge since I was mounting it on another white piece.

The paper is some that I won as blog candy on the Merry Monday site a while back.  I love that it has a knitted appearance like a nice warm scarf.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Snowman (Birdie Brown), Easy Events
Ink:  SU Markers (Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango), Whisper White
Paper:  Island Indigo, Whisper White, DP
Other:  White EP, Big Shot, Snow Flurries EF, 1 3/4" Circle, Large Scallop Circle, 2 1/2" Circle and Corner Rounder punches

I really like this sketch and found it fun and easy to work with.  Why not give it a try yourself.  I really love that I'm getting at least one Christmas card done each week.  Some weeks I get two done.  And they're all different.

I'm so glad you stopped by.  I really appreciate your visits and look forward to your comments.

Enjoy!

Sweet Puppies

I was in a quandary.  The OLW challenge this week was to use a cat or dog on a card.  Yikes!  I don't have any cat or dog stamps!  I have some mice and thought of putting the mouse with the cat out of the picture, but I didn't really think I could get away with that!

Then I remembered a blog I had visited a while back.  This very talented gal, Torico, draws beautifully and has some free digis on her blog.  I checked it out and found these sweet puppies.  Who could resist?  She also has some adorable digis for sale on Etsy.  Here's a link to Torico's blog.  Go ahead and take a look.  You'll be glad  you did!

Aren't these little guys so sweet? Torico colored hers much better in blonde shades.  I had a problem with the ink smudging.  Evidently the Stampin' Up! card stock doesn't accept the ink from my printer very well.  Hence, we have a litter of gray puppies instead of black & white.  I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless turpentine and cotton swabs.  The sentiment stamp is a renegade that was hiding in my drawer.

The F4A challenge at SCS today is a Free for All, literally.  We could do anything on a card as long as there's something that's free.  This stamp qualifies.  Yippee!

Stamps:  Sweet Puppies (Torico's Digi)
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Prismacolor Pencils

I hope you'll have a great weekend.  We'll be spending some time with the grandkids so I doubt I'll get to stamp much.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  Remember to uncheck the "keep me signed in" on the Google box to leave a comment.

Enjoy!
