Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

A new month and a new challenge at CAS Mix Up.

It's Watercolor month and our host is my talented friend Viv.
She's chosen...

I found this background in my stash that was done with Gansai Tambi watercolors and
the Splash Technique.  It worked perfectly with this seagull die cut.

Our fabulous Guest Designer, Joyce (Cards by the Sea) and our very talented
Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you.
I hope you'll check them out and join in at CAS Mix Up

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Butterflies

Hello friends.  I'm glad you stopped by today.

I have a threefer of butterflies to share with you today.
These are cards I'd done through the year and never got on my blog.

My butterfly was stamped and heat embossed on vellum and
colored on the back with Zigs and a barely damp waterbrush.

When it was dry, I fussy cut it and trimmed down a piece of dry embossed leaves for
him to perch on.  Then I framed it all in some gray "white space".

This card uses a sweet little butterfly stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

I had the die cut in my UFO box with the background all picked out.
The background was smooshed on cardstock with re-inker and frost white paint.
All it needed was this fussy cut butterfly and a sentiment to finish it off.
He's been heat embossed and watercolored.

I love it when I can use one of those UFOs!

This beautiful die cut butterfly was from a play with my friend Nance (Soul Stampin' Designs).

It makes such a Quick And CAS card when paired with a colorful background
with Lindy's Magicals splashed onto coated cardstock.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Water Floral Splash for CAS Watercolour

Hello friend.  I'm so glad you could stop by today.

I'm here today to remind you that there's still time to make a splash

Nancy is hosting this month and she's asked us to use the splash watercolor technique.

Sadly, this is Nancy's last Design Team challenge.  We have so enjoyed having her on
the team and she's added so much inspiration to all of us on the team and our followers.

Fortunately for us she will still be in our CAS family as a Designer on the CAS Mix Up team.

On to the splash technique.  You can check the challenge site
for a video tutorial on how to do this fun technique.

My color was done with Brushos sprinkled on my craft sheet and spritzed
with water and pounced my paper into the puddle.

I borrowed a friends stamp that's called Water Floral to stamp
on this piece that looked like water to me.

The challenge is open until the 24th.

Making a Splash for CAS Watercolour

Hello friends. I hope you're having a good day!

It's time for a new challenge at
CAS Watercolour.
Nancy is our host this month and she chose

This is such an easy and fun technique!

Our Design Team and fabulous Guest Designer Marcia (Marcia K. Designs)
have some beautiful splash cards to inspire you.

Loll has done a video that you might want to check out if you haven't already.

I used some Peacock Feathers Distress ink on my craft mat, spritzed it,
and pounced my mixed media paper into the wet ink to splash the color
onto the paper.

Then I added some die cuts that I colored by sponging color on them
with Distress Oxide inks then spritzing with water.

The flowers are winked with clear Wink of Stella
but the camera didn't want to show you that.
They are very shimmery though.

Since I colored my die cuts, I'll add this to the gallery at

Nature's Friend for CAS Christmas

Hello friends. I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas.

First, here's my card.

Christine is our host this month and she chose....

I had a piece of splash watercolor using Distress Oxide ink that I
thought would work well for a winter background.

Then I pulled out a tree from the Prancers set and a deer
from the Nature's Friends set and stamped on the
background piece.  I used my MISTI so I could stamp
more than once if I needed to.  Good thing I did
because I did!

After stamping, I lightly touched the images with a
damp waterbrush.

The snowbank is a torn piece of snippet with
a little shadow colored with a watercolor pencil
and a stamped the sentiment.

Finally, I sprinkled some chunky Frantage on top
of the design and heat set from underneath.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Prancers, Natures Friends, Holiday Snippets (PB)
Ink:   Broken China, Iced Spruce for splash technique (DOX), Handsome Hunter, Baked Brown Sugar (SU)
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Naturals White (SU), Mixed Media (St)
Other:  Chunky White Frantage
