Turning the Page May 2019

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post on the last day of each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our May page.

By the way, the calendars are clipped together and can be displayed on an easel
or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.

If you would like a word document with the calendar, email me
and I will be glad to send it to you so you can design your own.
Email link is on the sidebar.

Poinsettia for Rudolph Days and Jingle Belles

Hello friends.

Today I have another Christmas card for the stash.

This card was made with pieces from my Christmas UFO box.

The poinsettia was cut from a Simon Says Stamp Die and assembled
long ago.  I don't remember how I colored it or got the shiny finish on it.
Most of the Some times I just can't remember stuff!

I used two kinds of texture on the white pieces but they don't want to
show themselves in the picture.  The smaller white piece has gold
embossing around the edges.

I'm joining in at Rudolph Days where Maureen hosts an
Anything Christmas Goes challenge every month from the
25th to the end of the month.

I'm also joining in at the Jingle Belles Challenge
where they've given us a sketch to use this time.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Birthday Violets

Hi there.  I hope you are having or have had a crafty weekend.

I had some crafting time yesterday and here is what I made.

I've used the Darling Viola die from Poppystamps.  It's been cut from watercolor paper
and colored with Zigs and my waterbrush.

I found this embossed piece in my UFO box and added some of the
watercolor to a strip of paper left from the die cut.

The most time consuming part of this card was finding a sentiment!

I'm sharing with the Poppystamps Challenge

also with Seize the Birthday using the topping.

Full Bloom for Krafty Chicks

Hello friends.  Today is my last day as Guest Designer for Krafty Chicks.

My dear friend Nance is hosting this challenge and she picked these
gorgeous colors.

I love this stamp from Penny Black and I haven't used it nearly enough.

I placed the stamp in my MISTI and inked it up with Zigs one section
at a time.  After stamping, I moved the ink with a damp waterbrush and
continued stamping until I was happy with the results.

I had trouble getting the leaves just the right color and had to keep trying
until I found an old inkpad that seemed to be the right shade of green.

It's been fun joining in with the gals at Krafty Chicks.
Thanks for the opportunity.
I hope to see you in their gallery.

Hi there.  I'm so glad you could stop by!

It's time to get back to some Spring cards.

Today I'm squeaking in playing at The Flower Challenge #31
Here's the sketch...

The taller recangle layer is embossed with a die.

The smaller rectangle is the taller flower.

The butterfly and smaller flower and sentiment represent the flowers on the sketch.

I did the irises with stamps and Distress Markers and
cut out with matching dies.

Earth Day Christmas

Hello, happy Earth Day.

Actually I think it was yesterday, but I'm still celebrating.

Are you scratching your head wondering what  a Christmas has to do with Earth Day?

It's an up-cycled or recycled card that I received last Christmas.

I worked perfectly for the Jingle Belles Challenge

I got a twofer out of it too.

The camera did a better job on catching the gold embossed trees on this one.

Sparkle and Fluff

Hello.  Are you in the mood for Christmas?

I know we've just got past Easter, but Christmas will be here before we know it!

Meet Sparkle...

She's going to visit over at Christmas Kickstart
where Frosty is looking for Snowman (or snowgirl) friends.

She's colored up with Copic markers and she just sparkles!
See..

Her friend Fluff is out to visit the Kickstart folks too.

He opted for fluff instead of sparkle.

Well, he does sparkle a little.  It's hard not to when the sun shines on his snowy self.

I hope you're feeling sparkly today!

Easter Bunny

Hello friends.

I found the little sponged piece in my background box, die cut it
 and added some foliage.

The little bunny die (isn't he adorable?) belongs to a friend.

The Easter eggs were die cut from various snippets of
Alcohol inks and cardstock.

Looks like the Easter bunny is ready to deliver his eggs.

I'm going to take this over to

Lavender for Krafty Chicks

Hi.  I'm back again Guest Designing for Krafty Chicks

Since Nance offered the Guest Designer position and she had given me
this beautiful stamp set, I thought it was fitting to make a card with it
for this week's challenge.

Leanne is the challenge host and she's asking for
FLOWERS.

I placed the stamp in my MISTI and inked her up with Distress Markers.
I blended the flowers with a damp waterbrush pulling the ink to the
center of the flowers and used a watercolor pencil to color the leaves.

I die cut a double oval frame and put a piece of vellum behind the
smaller oval.

I thought it looked like a wedding card and didn't
have any in my stash.  So I added the die cut love.

Hope to see you over at the

I used some sticky sheets to mask him so I could

One present has been fussy cut and added with a dimensional.

I hope to see you in the CAS Christmas gallery!
