Turning the Page November 2020

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post on the last day of each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our November page.

By the way, the calendars are clipped together and can be displayed on an easel
or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.

If you would like a word document with the calendar, email me (bonklass(at)gmail(dot)com.
and I will be glad to send it to you so you can design your own.

If your email address is not in your profile, I have no way to send this to you.

Email link is in my profile on the sidebar.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Happy Haunting

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Happy Halloween

I've used some older stamps from my stash for both of these cards.

I found a piece of Brusho smoosh in Halloween colors and stamped this
owl stamp and some branches on it.

A little black Glimmer Paper to jazz it up and a quick and easy card is done.

This background was smooshed with re-inker and perfect for these
Halloween stamps.

The card base has some of those vines stamped on it with VersaMark.

To make it a bit more fun, I did this on the inside.

Mr. Bones came from a Halloween card I received last year and is
on a wobble so he jiggles.

The background was done with friends when we inked
embossing folders and embossed.  It's a technique I need a lot more work on!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Glittery Snowman for Rudolph Days

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

This was made with Vintage Hues Acetate and Glitter Film from
Stamp on It.

Super quick and fun with lots of sparkle.

Think we should tell that snowman that the hot chocolate will give him
an empty feeling?

I'm sharing this with Rudolph Days where it's anything Christmas goes.

Here's another done in the same way.  They have so many great images, I
couldn't choose just one....or two...

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

WIzard and Boo

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

I have some more Halloween cards today.

This wizard with his potions is from a friend's set.  I stamped them the
last time we got together.  I've colored them with Copics, fussy cut them
and popped them over a Brusho background.

This one is for Jack who is into wizards, potions and magic crystals.
We're working our way through the Harry Potter movies.

I made multiples of this one.  The ghost is from Simon Says Stamp
and this is a case of a card my friend Candee sent me.

I used a spider web embossing folder for the base.  The orange background
is from rolling off my brayer when using the gelli plate.
The ghost is 3 layers with a coated cardstock on top and the letters
cut from different colors of glitter paper.

This was easy to mass produce.

One more that was a stamp my friend Nance brought for me to play with.

I've colored her with Copics and added a little sparkle to her crystal ball
and the stars.

Isn't she a sweet little wizardess?

Countryside Bouquet

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Sorry to be posting so much.  Yesterday's post was a mistake (durn Blogger)!
Today I'm trying to get in a challenge under the wire.
Maybe I'll take a blogging break tomorrow.

Today I have two cards using a digital stamp from Power Poppy.

The first card was printed in black and the second in sepia.

I've colored them very nearly the same with Copic Markers.

I think the sepia gives it more of a no-line color look.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Birthday Wishes (Happy Birthday a little late, Lisa)
Seize the Birthday - ATG Birthday-Option Texture (have subtle embossed texture)

Inspired by Fall

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

The Penny Black Saturday challenge this month is
Anything Goes'
or
'Too Cute to Spook!'

I don't have any of those cute Penny Black Halloween stamps so I had to
do some combining.  A hedgie from Just for You and a pumpkin from
the Pumpkin Patch.

A sweet friend sent me a surprise box and this frame die set was in it.
Wow! I'll be using it a lot!

And.....

I zoomed with some friends a little while back and we used
embossing folders.  We did a technique with double embossing.
For this card I first embossed with a Cable Sweater embossing folder
then again with a 3D embossing folder of leaves.
Can you see the two distinct patterns?

I was inspired to use it for the Inspired By challenge this week.
I was inspired by the wood paneled background, the texture of the sweaters
and the pumpkins.

I used the same pumpkin die for all three pumpkins, elongating one and cutting
a bit off the width of another.  All have been sponged for depth (badly I'd say
after seeing this picture.)

Almost forgot: The cable sweater embossing folder and Elegant Stitching Frame
are both enjoying their first outing so I'm going to the NBUS #19 Challenge

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Geometric Foil Christmas Tree

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

There's a new challenge out there,

It's all about embossing folders of which I have a LOT.
This looks like lots of fun Gail & Jo!

This is their first challenge...

I pulled out a piece of green foil cardstock then went through my embossing folders
to find something geometric.

I settled on an old Stampin' Up! embossing folder with diamonds,
embossed the foil and sanded the top a bit to highlight the raised design.

You can see the shine here.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Sunflower Times Four

Hi there.  I'm glad you stopped by!

Here's another of the Split Four technique.

I used a TCW Stencil and used a sponge dauber to add color with Distress ink.

I started with Mustard Seed then added some Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink
to the center of each petal

The sentiment above is from PTI.

The ones below are from Tim Holtz.

I added some Wink of Stella to the petals on the card below.

There's still time to join in at CAS Mix Up where we're using stencils this month.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Pink Christmas

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

I have two cards to show you today.

 First up....

I've used an alcohol ink background and this sweet Poppystamps die cut from
white Glimmer Paper.

I cut the corner with the larger snowflake a second time and fit it
into the top corner.

The larger frame was cut with the Memory Box Delicate Pine Frame.

My second card uses a snippet of plaid decorative paper that
came in a kit.  I love this plaid!

I used a pine border for the ornament to hang from and laid the die cut piece
on a piece of Neenah as I sponged it to get a bit of a Print Making background.

Challenges:
ABC Christmas - U  (Up in the Air - Snowflakes in the air)
Christmas Kickstart #40 - Pink Christmas
Jingle Belles - Pink Christmas (Stephanie & Lauren will each donate $2.00 to Breast Cancer Reasearch for each entry.)

Snowy Branch Cardinal

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

I love all birds and especially the bright cardinals.
And they are really beautiful when it snows!

I've stamped this fella on mixed media paper and had fun
watercoloring.

If you look close you can see that I stamped and heat embossed pine
braches around the frame.  I wanted to keep this CAS but with a bit of
extra interest.
