Moon Lake Chickadee

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS

Kylie chose this challenge

Our Sponsor this time is
£15 E-Gift Certificate to use on the website.

Ellen (In a World of Craft) is our Guest Designer again.
I can't wait for you to see what she did.

And be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's cards.
So much inspiration there.

To do this card, I stamped the image from the Moon Lake set
on a piece of watercolor paper with Memento Tuxedo Black.

The grass and branch were colored with Distress Markers and
blended with an Aqua Painter.

I used the Aqua Painter to blend the black into the chickadee and
added a little orange for his underside with a distress marker.
I blended it again with the Aqua Painter.

Distress ink was carefully sponged around the scene.
Blending with the Aqua Painter smoothed the color out.
I added a little yellow to the washed background
by touching my Aqua Painter to a distress ink pad
then "dropping" the color on the paper.

The birds head was colored with a Black Stampin' Write Marker.

There are so many ways to interpret Distress.
I hope you'll join us.

The CASology challenge is

Carolina Chickadees are mini birds
and this is a mini scene.
I think maybe it's a fit.

Thanks for stopping by.
Love your comments.

Enjoy!

Butterfly Thinlits Splotched

I almost talked myself out of the Butterflies Thinlits in the Stampin' Up! mini catalog.

Almost.....

I'm so glad I decided to get them!

Here's one of the quick and easy cards I made with them.

You'll be seeing more at a later date...

Because I made a dozen cards with these dies.

I remembered a piece of the watercolor splotches in my
UFO (UnFinished Objects) box.

Glued this butterfly cut out in black.

Stamped hello.

Added a few sequins.

Adhered to a card base.

Done!

I'm going to take this over to

Rudolph Days

It's the 25th of the month and time for

This is an upcycled card.

I rarely do the upcycling anymore.  I have too many stamps and dies to play with.

But once in awhile I get a card that begs to be taken apart and reassembled.

I cut it up, embossed a background piece and stamped Merry Christmas.

Done!

is having Holiday Week
so I'll go visit there too.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Many Merry Stars

It's Merry Monday time

I'm the hostess this week and I chose....

I couldn't decide between gold or silver so I did one of each.

They're the same except for the color and sentiment.
Both were inspired by this card by Loll (Stamping with Loll).

Since I've embossed, I'll enter the Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge again.

And I'm off to Pixies Snippet Playground with my stars from snippets.

And a new challenge to me.  My friend JoAnn is a designer over there.

I hope you'll put a star or stars on a Christmas card and bring it over to

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Blended Blooms

When Stampin' Up! released the Blendabilites, I did a bunch of these Blended Blooms.

They ended up in the UFO (UnFinished Objects) box.

A couple of them have found a home.

I broke out the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.

I cut some off for the first card and used the left over for the second.

Since I used markers (Blendabilities), I can take this to
MAKE YOUR MARK

ADD A LITTLE TEXTURE
There's embossing on both cards and ribbon on the first.

Thanks for the visit.

Moon Lake Watercolor

This is very similar to a card I did for my DH's birthday.

This time I did it in watercolor.

I stamped the goose in black on the piece of watercolor paper
and on a scrap piece.  Then I cut the goose out of the scrap.

I used an Aqua Painter and ink squished into the lid of the inkpads
to do the coloring.

I found this little grass stamp marked down at one of the craft stores.
I inked it, spritzed with water and stamped.

When everything was dry, I added the cut out goose atop the watercolor.

with my snippets of watercolor paper

Here Comes Santa

Hello and Merry Monday to you.

Super talented Sue is our hostess this week
and she chose.....

The Merry Makers have a wonderful array of Santas.
Be sure to check them out.

Edited to add: Evidently There She Goes Stamps has closed it's doors.
So sorry to see that.

I chose this Santa from the Season's Greetings set from
There She Goes Stamps.  Love these images.

I stamped the Santa image and colored with Copic Markers.
(It was a real challenge to keep the white edges.
A white gel pen finally got the white I wanted instead of pink.)

I cut a mask for the Santa and masked him so I could
stamp the trees behind him.

Colored the trees, sponged some sky, added some
Dazzling Details for sparkle,
and put it on a card.

And my Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler snippets will get me in at
Where the prize is a set of Sarntangle Stamps.
Awesome!

I hope you'll check out all these challenges.

Then put a Santa on Christmas card and join us at

I'm so glad you came to visit.

Enjoy!

Masking Butterfly Basics for ATCAS

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Harriet is our hostess this week and this is what she chose....

We have a new Guest Designer for this month, Ellen Parker (In a World of Craft).

I can't wait for you to see what she designed for this challenge!

And as always, the rest of the Design Team has outdone themselves!

Our sponsor this week is

Inspired by Stamping

giving a $20 gift voucher to our winner.

To make this card, I inked the flower from the new Butterfly Basics (SU) set
with Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on a piece of Whisper White.

I huffed on the stamp and stamped again in the background.
(Second generation stamping.)

I stamped the flowers on a sticky note and fussy cut that out
to use as a mask.

Placing the mask over the stamped flowers, I stamped the fern,
which had been inked with a Wild Wasabi Stamin' Write marker.

I swiped the markers on a plastic lid and picked up some color
with a Blender Pen and lightly added some color to the inside
of the flowers and around and between the flowers to.
I liked that watercolor look.

Now it's your turn.
I can't wait to see what you create.

(our sister challenge)
is
ANYTHING GOES

Thanks so much for your visit and your lovely comments.

Enjoy!

Smooshy Heart

Would you believe I have a UFO box for holiday cards?

LOL, it seems I have one for everything.
And the contents keep growing no matter how many I use!

I even gave Jack some of the hearts and he got tired of gluing well before they were gone!

These have a home anyway.

The intricate die cut heart is from Serendipity and cut with my Big Shot.

The under heart is from a piece done with the smoosh technique.

I can't say for sure what colors I used but I think it was
Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry with some Frost White Shimmer paint.

Edited to add I'm entering this in the
It's my 3rd entry there.

I {heart} you
I used my manual Big Shot to die cut the heart and emboss the background.

Red + Pink
We can use either or both.

All we need to do here is use a snippet or snippets on a creation.
These hearts and the ribbon were snippets.

All You Need is Love
using at least 1 Serendipity stamp or die.

ANYTHING GOES

So glad you could stop by today.

Enjoy!

Holly Jolly Candy Canes

We've raced around to Merry Monday time again.

This week, wonderful Wendy gave us this sweet challenge.

Don't you just love this candy cane bouquet?

The rest of the Design Team has some awesome inspiration for you!
Be sure to check them out.

I pulled out my favorite candy cane stamp that came from Michael's dollar bin.

I stamped it with Real Red ink and colored the bow with a Garden Green Marker.

A little embossing and a bit of twine.
I used my little punch on the sides to anchor the twine.
(It was really to cover a ink smudge but I couldn't put a sequin there.)

I was able to use a snippet of twine on here so I'll run over to

Since I used a bit of embossing, I'll also take this to

I hope you have a really sweet week and that you'll join us at Merry Monday.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Sweet Emmy

Our sweet Emmy is 6 years old.

This was her birthday card.

I used a digital from Torico of Birdie Brown fame.
Unfortunately, she doesn't have a store for her digital stamps anymore.
I'm glad I got this while I could.

I printed this out on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Blendabilities.

Emmy loves glitter so I glittered up her shoes. LOL, she's a sparkly girl!

Feathers

I've been wanting to try Kylie's watercolor technique
and finally took the plunge.

I used a small almost square acrylic block and inked it with
Pool Party right from the inkpad, spritzed with water and
pressed onto some watercolor paper.

I spritzed the paper some more and dried.

Did the same thing with Crumb Cake ink.

Stamped and die cut some feathers to "hang" over the colored block.
Two of the feathers were stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White Scraps.
The 3rd feather was stamped with Whisper White ink and heat embossed.

I used the February sketch from Happy Little Stampers

Why not give this a try?

I'll confess this was my second try. The first was trashed!
I was really glad I tried again.

Also at Happy Little Stampers is Loll's CAS Challenge

I hope that embossed feather will be enough to get me in.

And the snippets I used for the feathers will get me into

I got the idea to use the 4 blocks from this card by Jean Manis.
She's the Featured Stamper this week over at Splitcoaststampers.

Some of the Papercrafters came over this morning to make Valentines.
Here is what we did.

Some more are coming tomorrow to do the same.

What fun!

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!
