I never get tired of the magic of wiping off the paper and seeing the bright colors appear!

Baby Wipe Magic for CAS Mix Up

I'm hosting the challenge this month and this is what I chose....

There are a lot of ways to use baby wipes on cards.

We keep discovering new ones.

I used this technique from Kia's video tutorial.

I LOVE this technique.  It's like magic when you wipe it down.

I did learn that some photo paper doesn't work well,

but this HP worked like a dream!

I smooshed Distress Oxide on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and

dipped the glossy photo paper into the ink.

I used several colors, drying between each color, until I was 

happy with the coverage.

When the paper was colored and dry, I stamped the image, 

using the MISTI so I could stamp more than once if needed.

I let that dry REAL good and wiped it down with a baby wipe

and watched the magic happen.

I've used a die to emboss the edge and put the design image on foam.

My mixed media are Baby Wipe Technique, Stamping and  Dry Embossing with a Die.

I hope you'll try this or another of the baby wipe techniques.

Snowy Tree for CAS Mix Up

Hi.  It's December 1st! Wow!
It seems like the year just started and, whoosh, it's almost gone!

And it's Christmas card time.

It's time for our last CAS Mix Up challenge of the year.

Updated to add the card with a red bird.
I think I like it better.

Using stamping, heat embossing, Distress Oxide Slash technique, glitter and die cuts.

We're making it easy for you this month.

I used Loll's Splash Technique with Distress Oxides on Tim Holtz Specialty Paper.

This technique is so much fun and you never know what you are going to come up with!

I used Iced Spruce and a tiny bit of Antique Linen for this piece.

The tree was done by adhering some sticky sheet to a piece of cardstock and

sprinkling some fine white glitter over the sticky once the liner was removed.

It has a real icy look to it.

Seeing the photo, I think I need to add a tiny red bird.

More Distress Oxide Ink Smoosh

Hi, I hope you're having a wonderful day!

Here's another card from playing with the
Distress Oxide Inks (DOX)

I smooshed some ink on my craft sheet using 3 colors but not touching.

Then I spritzed with water and smooshed some cardstock into the wet ink.

I dried the piece with my heat gun, lightly spritzing more
water as it dried.

My friend Jan loves purple so I made into a birthday card for her.

The panel is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" so it's an oversized card (5" x 7")
She shared her butterfly die with me a while back.
It worked perfectly for her card!

Playing with Oxide Inks

I had an opportunity to play with my new Distress Oxide Inks (DOX) last week.

Here are two samples of smooshing with them.

I used the same technique on both of these samples.

The one on the left was smooshed on cardstock.

The one on the right was smooshed on Tim Holtz Specialty Paper.

For each sample, I applied the ink to my craft sheet one color at a time 

and smooshed the paper in the ink WITHOUT spritzing with water.

Then I spritzed the inked piece with water as I dried it.

It moved a lot more on the specialty paper.

I thought the colors were more vibrant than when I spritzed the inks with water before smooshing.

It looks more like smooshing with Distress Ink with the

advantage of the colors layering.

Here's a card I made from the sample on the left.

That bit of pink made me think of a flower.

I framed it with a NBUS Stitched Hexagon Layers.

There's a piece of die cut foam underneath.

I don't know if you can see the background or not.

It was a piece that had been dry embossed with a stencil.

It adds a very subtle embossing.

It's a good thing it's subtle, because the embossing is crooked.

The more I tried to straighten it, the worse it got!

This is the card I made with some of the piece done on Specialty Paper.

It's a shameful CASE of Jennifer McGuire's card.

I love this NBUS Poppystamp die!
