Hello friends.  I'm glad you stopped by.

Today's card was made with a NBUS House Mouse Stamp.

I love these sweet little mice!

I've stamped the image with Versafine ink on mixed media paper

and watercolored with Zigs.

The washed background was done using the wet on wet technique

and Distress re-inker.

I pulled out my Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the butterfly

and added some tiny rhinestones to the trail.

Here's a close up that shows the shimmer a bit better.

House Mouse for Merry Monday

Hello.

I'm coming in at the last minute for Merry Monday again.
I didn't think I'd make it at all.

The Merry Monday Challenge this week is hosted by Deanne

This stencil was a NBUS.  So glad to use those NBUS!

I used a Clarity Brush to stencil with Crumb Cake ink.

The House Mouse was stamped on watercolor paper waiting to be colored.

This little mouse stamp was in my NBUS box also.  I colored him up

with Copics and added some Flower Soft to his cap.

I stenciled a row of chevrons and popped him on top.

Whew!  Didn't think I was going to get them done this week.

Is it me or are the weeks going by faster?

Sweet Valentine

Hello.  I'm glad you could stop by.

Today I'm back to sharing a Valentine.

 

Little Monica is on her way to wish my aunt a happy Valentine's Day.

I remember a visit to this aunt when I was a little girl.  She had a shoebox

with a nest of baby mice in it.  My mother was not impressed, but I was.

I wonder if Aunt Marian remembers that nest of baby mice?

I found the design in my Valentine box and decided it was

high time to put it on a card.

I believe it was colored with Copics. I really can't remember.

I popped her in a peek-a-boo frame, stamped and sentiment

and winked the heart!

I'm going to take her over to 

House Mouse and Friends

where the challenge is

***ANYTHING GOES***

with the option of Sweets or Hearts.

I can't find this stamp online so I'm thinking it might be discontinued.

I hope it's OK to enter it anyway.

House Mouse New Leaf

Hi,

I've dug out my House Mouse stamps and inked up a NBUS that has waited
far too long for some love.

I had fun watercoloring this little guy and the leaves falling around him.

I don't have many House Mouse stamps, but I need to use the ones I have more.

I always smile when I see them.

This was stamped with Archival Black ink and colored with Distress Markers smooshed
on my craft sheet and picked up with my Aqua Painter.

The background was done wet on wet with some diluted re-inker.

I added a few splatters too, because you know how those falling leaves
stir up the dust!  Especially when you play in them.

Less is More with Fur

Over the weekend I stamped with my friends in Roanoke Rapids.  Our group has been stamping together for almost five years now and I always look forward to going even though it's a 2 hour drive.  I have to admit that I enjoy the time to listen to a book and be by myself for a while.  

Nell brought two new House Mouse stamps with her.  She has a whole box of these delightful stamps and we've had House Mouse Saturdays more than once.

When I saw the Less is More challenge that morning was

ONE LAYER CARD

and this time the subject of your creations should feature

FUR or FEATHERS

I wasn't sure what I was going to do.  I had some bird stamps but nothing that I thought I'd want to do on a one layer card.

Well, Nell took care of that in good form.

Here's another.

I hadn't done Halloween cards before last year, but with a Preschooler around, Halloween cards are great for the teachers.  

And for Mom to put on the shelf to remind him of Trick or Treat time.

I may just have to put one of these on my shelf!  These little guys always make me smile. And smiles are good.

I'm also entering the House-Mouse and Friends challenge which this week is Double Trouble. Thanks Kate for leading me to that challenge.

And the Lawnscaping Challenge this week is to do a One Layer Card.

And the mistake on yesterday's card...If  you look closely at the ornaments, the green one doesn't have any white space around it.  It's a little narrower than it should be.

Just Chillin'

SSh! This is not Stampin' Up!

I played with my Roanoke Rapids Stampin' Friends last weekend. Nell brought all of her House Mouse Stamps and boy, did we have fun!

I don't usually like mice and have been known to scream "get it out of here" even for the dead ones! I remember one time the kids found an nest outside and brought a baby mouse in the house and let it "accidentally" get away. I really didn't think it was cute at all! But these guys are adorable!

I painted it with Watercolor Pencils and used a Blender Pen to smooth things out. All the card stock is SU. I used my fingernail to distress the edges then inked them.
