Banners for Baby

There are a couple of challenges out there calling for banners.

I wasn't sure what to do but ended up taking the sketch literally
and making a baby card that I'm going to be needing this month.

I used my banner punch and some snippets of paper to make this.
So I'm off to
Pixies Snippet Playground

Virginia's View Challenge #17

I think these banners qualify as homemade embellishments.

Something else I'd like to share with you....

dressed up version

This was made from the bed that I slept in as a toddler.

Several of my nieces, all 3 of our girls, Luke and Jack have slept in it.

Jack has graduated to a bigger bed now and
I suggested that the bed would make a cute bench.

My very talented son-in-law went to work on it.

He even upholstered the cushion.

I LOVE it!

It still functions, doesn't take up as much space
and brings back some happy memories.

Thanks for the visit.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Baby Words set (a gift with no markings)
Ink:  Pacific Point
Paper:  Pacific Point, Whisper White, Snippets of DSP
Other:  Banner Punch, Baker's Twine

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

What a fun baby card! I love the different papers you used for it. The bench is a wonderful idea. It's a beautiful addition as furniture and a precious memory you see every day. How clever of your son in law.

What a pretty baby card Bonnie and such a good idea. Most of the cards I make go to my chosen charity each month so I'm going to "snitch" this idea if you don't mind. It will be fun to do something different for new baby cards.

How lovely the bench looks. It's nice to be able to recycle and use it when there are so many happy memories attached to it. Your son-in-law has done a wonderful job. Barbxx

Love your card and a great way of using up those pesky snippets! Your son in law has made a fantastic job of cutting down that bed, it makes a wonderful seat which I think would look great in a hallway.

What a wonderful idea to make your childhood bed into a re-purposed piece to enjoy now....and the fact that many of the next generations slept in it, too. Very cool! These things from our past are to be treasured.

Love the different colored banners, so festive. This is a great as a baby card since it isn't the usual blah pastel colors! I wondered if your banners are paper or washi tape and I see you answered that for us. Either way would be perfect. This is a great card!
