Lorelai Leaf with Bokeh

This card was done with a Watercolor Bokeh technique.

We made these backgrounds in a watercolor class I held recently.

We wet the watercolor paper then dropped re-inker onto the wet paper
and blended it around until we were happy with it.

When it was dry, we used a die cut template of different size
circles to stencil the white dots.

The leaf is cut from the Lorelai Leaf die from Poppystamps.

I did some texturing on the leaves with a stylus but it doesn't show very well.
IRL you can see the veins.

THE HEAT IS ON

I'm thinking cooling off  in the shade beside a spring fed mountain brook.

The sun makes the water sparkle.

It's a wonderful respite from the hot, August sun.

LOL. That cooled me off.

How about you?

I don't have many Poppystamp dies but I recently won one just by commenting
on Marybeth's blog.

I would have commented anyway because I always love what she does.

But I'm excited about getting the die.

It's the snowflake ribbon and I know I'll have fun with it.

I hope you are staying cool.

Thanks for sitting by the brook with me.

Enjoy!

You always have the 'bestest' techniques and this one is just lovely. The background looks so soft & loving this Bokeh look. So much dimension with adding the pretty leaf die...and if it's enlarged, the veins show quite nicely. Yay on winning a new die...can't wait to see it in use. We could use a little mountain stream too, although we did have a bit of morning breeze. Got a little rumble of thunder this evening, with a few raindrops. Doing some visit catchups. Hope ya'll are having a good wkend. Stay cool. TFS &Hugs

FYI your link to Marybeth's blog is broken--it leads to the Blogger dashboard. But I do love her work!

Whew, I needed cooling off and I enjoyed sitting by the brook with you. I love the Bokeh technique and this card is stunning. I've never done it with reinkers, only sponging. Must try it this way. Congratulations on winning the snowflake ribbon die. Marybeth is a sweetie.

Once again thanks for sharing the technique you used Bonnie. I have two reinkers that I bought at a garage sale so I will give it a try. The card is really pretty and I like the island indigo. Hot. It is hot in Southern California and living close to the beach helps only a little. Enjoy the rest of the summer. Barb

Great card! Love the colors. I had forgotten about the bokeh technique. I'd even pulled out a previously done alcohol ink background to try it out on.... No idea where that is! Love the crisp white of the die with that background. Very nice!
