Blooming Buds for my Good Buddy

This went as a thank you to my good friend Loll (Stamping with Loll).

Recently I was a lucky winner of some of her blog candy.

I used the Blooming Buds set again.

I'm loving this set!

I stamped the images with Whisper White and heat embossed them.

The flowers and leaves were colored with Distress Markers.

I colored up the base of the petals with Picked Raspberry and
the edges of the petals with Mustard Seed.

Using my Aqua Painter I blended the colors together
adding more ink as needed.

The leaves and stems were colored the same way with
Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint.

Then after wetting the area around the flowers, I scribbled some ink on a piece of acetate and picked up color to add to the wet paper giving it a bit of a wash.

I'm taking this over to
Just Us Girls Challenge

this looks Autumnal to me.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

More Blooming Buds

Here's another card from my play with the Blooming Buds.

The watercolor process was the same as for this card.

By mounting it on a dark card base, it has a totally different look.

I love the sentiments that are included with these flowers.

Most of you probably know that Heidi Swapp lost her second oldest son.
An unimaginable loss!  You can read about it on Jennifer Mcguire's post here.

You can send Heidi a card at

Thank you for your visit.

Enjoy!

Loving Blooming Buds

I was so excited when I saw the Blooming Buds set
that my friend Deepti had designed.

This is just one of the flowers in the set.

I knew these colors would be perfect for Deepti's stamps.

I embossed the flower with VersaMark ink and clear embossed it.

Using Distress Markers, I colored the flower and blended the colors
with an Aqua Painter.

After painting the flower, I wet the area around it,
scribbled some ink on a piece of plastic and picked it up
with my Aqua Painter and added some color.

I used hot press watercolor paper for the first time
and I love the smooth texture!

Thanks, Brenda, for sharing the difference between hot press and cold press.

I'm going to share this with the
