Gentle Whisper

Hello, my friends.

I used my MISTI with this beautiful orchid stamp.

I inked and stamped on Arches 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper, inking and stamping
one color at a time and moving with a water brush.  Then I stamped again until I was
satisfied with the colors.

The sentiment was die cut 3 times and stacked for thickness.

And here's another that I made using this stamp.

Both of these cards have been sent off quite a while ago.

I'm slow to get them blogged.

I thought they would be a fun break from Valentines!

I'm joining in again at
Penny Black Saturday Challenge
ANYTHING GOES: OPTIONAL "USE SOME SCRAPS"
The sentiment was cut from scraps.

More Cork and Canvas

Hello my stamping friends.

I've had so much fun playing with that cork and canvas that have been hoarded for so long!

I randomly stamped the canvas with a script stamp and die cut some cork.

Then I used my water brush to watercolor the largest and smallest heart with some
Real Red re-inker, stacked them up, added a little bow and adhered the stack to the canvas.

A die cut cork sentiment and piece of cork for the background and I was done.

There's still time to join in at

Thank you Joanna for the excuse to use my stash of cork and canvas!

My mixed media are stamping, cork, canvas, watercolor and die cuts

and

Both challenges end on the 24th.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Merry Monday Pastel Snowflakes

Hi.  I'm running in here out of breath from all the rushing!

And would you believe that I sent an announcement for next week's class with a date of March?

It's been quite a week!

I woke up this morning thinking about a piece of  an inked embossing folder in my stash.

I was remembering right and found it.

I cut it in half and got my two Christmas cards for this week.

Excited to see that this was a winner at Merry Monday!

Come see....

and this one with a snowflake that seems to have landed a bit hard and wonky!

I'll have to see if I can adjust that before I send it.

If I remember correctly, the embossing folder was inked straight from the inkpad and
spritzed with water before embossing.

The snowflakes were cut from silver foil and Glimmer paper.

I embossed the sentiments with silver on vellum then folded it around the
embossed pieces and added the die cut snowflakes.

Two more for the stash.

Merry Monday #275  Hosted by my friend Sue.

Hearts for CAS Watercolour

Hello dear friends.

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Watercolour.

This month's challenge is

I've been having a great time playing with watercolor hearts, making
Valentine's Day and anniversary cards.

This one will go for an anniversary.

The beautiful NBUS die was used to cut from Solar White Neena cardstock.

Then I cut the heart section again.

I used a snippet of Brusho watercolor to die cut just the heart portion twice.
(This is a really saturated red that Jack did. He loves to shake those Brushos!)

The partial die cut Neena needed to be trimmed down a bit
so I could tuck it behind the main heart.  After all, it takes two hearts
to make a marriage!

Some decorative paper that had pieces of glitter in it makes the background.
I'm not sure where it came from as it's been in the drawer so long, I'd forgotten about it!

I wish the camera had picked up the silky white threads that run through this paper.

The Love is stamped and heat embossed to pick up some of the gold sparkle
in the background paper.

Finally, I placed a previously cut frame over the whole thing.

The Design Team along with our fabulous Guest Designer, Sue
have done some gorgeous watercolor heart cards to
astound and inspire you.

I hope to see your heart creations at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Canvas and Cork for CAS Mix Up

Hi.  It's time for a new challenge at
CAS Mix Up

Using stamping, canvas, cork, corrugated cardboard, Inca Gold, wire and micro-beads

This month Joanna (Jo-Jo's Spot) is our hostess.

I had some canvas that I'd been hoarding for ?*#!* years!

It has a backing on it so it can go through the printer.

I didn't trust my printer (the one I had then and the couple I've had since).

Hence the hoarding.

Thanks Joanna for the excuse to use this stash!

I stamped a sentiment on the canvas using an Archival ink.
I used my MISTI but it stamped well the first time.

I cut a piece of thin cork that had been given to me as a mat.

The heart was in my Valentine UFO box.

It was cut from corrugated cardboard.  Then I used my finger to smoosh
some Inca Gold all over it.

In honor of Joanna, I even pulled out some wire and beads.

I love how she decorates her card with bits of wire and beads!

Check out what the Design Team has done.
Our fabulous Guest Designer his month by Marianne (Marianne's cards 'n stuff).

Hope to see you at CAS Mix Up!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
