Back to Fall

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I thought I'd take a break from Christmas cards.

I think chrysanthemums are so pretty in the Fall and I have a hard time
choosing between the button mums and daisy mums.

Today I choose the daisy mum and added a bit of burlap ribbon for
a rustic Fall feel.

I recently had a session or two watching video tutorials, die cutting and shaping flowers
using my NBUS dies from Susan's Autumn Flora collection.

I also used them to decorate these Dollar Store pumpkins for my
Craft Group swap.  I saved one of the daisy mums for my card.

Rustic Wreath

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

The rush for getting Christmas cards done is on!
Fortunately there are lots of challenges out there that spur me on.

I used a retired Stampin' Up die for the wreath and a Penny Black die
for the greenery.  After coloring the greenery with Copics,
I found a snippet of plaid ribbon to tie up with string.

The sentiment is heat embossed on a sign hanging from the wreath.

Challenges:

Another Ornament

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Gasp! Christmas is less than two months away!
And I don't have nearly enough cards to send.
I think you can guess what I'm going to be doing this week.

I used a lot of snippets on this.  The ornament base was cut from a snippet of
Metallic Confections.  The ornament top and strip the ornament hangs from
was cut from a snippet of gold foil.  The branch and sentiment strip were
cut from snippets too.

It seems to me that those snippets multiply in the bag.
The more I use, the more I seem to have!

Challenges:
Christmas Kickstart -Use Snippets
Pixie's Snippet Playground (The Champion of Snippets)
Jingle Belles - Ornament

Stamps:  Sparkle & Shine (GKD)
Ink:   Encore Gold

What the Doodle Ornament

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This card came about from finding just the sentiment on a background
in my UFO (UnFinished Obects) box.

I can't find the stamp so I'm not sure where this sentiment came from, but it had been
stamped and heat embossed with a glittery embossing powder.

The ornament stamp was in my NBUS box where it had sat for far too long.
I think I bought it on clearance and I don't see that it's available anymore.

I stamped the ornament with VersaMark and heat embossed it with
white embossing powder then very carefully added a bit of watercolor.
I had to be very careful because it's Neenah cardstock, not watercolor paper.
I used ink smooshed into the lids and picked up with a damp waterbrush for color.

Then I even more carefully added a bit of wash around the ornament, used
a die to emboss a frame and glued on a silver bow.

Challenges:
Krafty Chicks - Occasions (Must have stamping)
Peace on Earth #2 - Inspired by the pine cones
NBUS - Never Before Used Schtuff

Ink:   VersaMark, Island Indigo, Blushing Bride, Soft Sky (SU)

Stencil Monoprint for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up.

My dear friend Loll is hosting this month and she's challenged us to...
There is an explanation and links to video tutorials at the challenge site.

I've used a Sanna Lippert stencil with Brusho crystals sprinkled on the stencil,
spritzed with water and pressed onto a piece of heavy cardstock.

I've die cut some branches from kraft cardstock, smooshed them into my
VersaMark pad and heat with clear embossing powder.

There's a piece of yellow cardstock peeking through the die cut hemstitch rectangle.

Our wonderfully talented Design Team have some awesome inspiration
for you and we're joined by our September winner, Steph.
Do check out our inspiration, tutorials then
come join us at CAS Mix Up.
