Peace

Recently I was putting a box of cards together for Operation Write Home.  I had room in the box for some more cards so I raided my Christmas UFO box to see what I could find that would be quick and easy.  And with no glitter.  LOL, now that that box is shipped, I can get out the glitter and glimmer!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree, Itty Bitty Backgrounds (retired)
Ink:  Old Olive, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Paper:  Whisper White
Other:  White EP, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Kars Snowflake EF (Cuttlebug-retired I think), White Gel Pen

I found this tree stamped and die cut.  I stamped the "snow" around the tree with one of the Itty Bitty Background stamps and Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I sponged around the tree with Marina Mist ink.  The image panel is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals atop an embossed layer.  And I used a White Gel Pen to deposit some snow on the branches

Challenges

Festive Friday

This card says PEACE to me.  I'm thinking of the hush of snow falling and softly settling on the trees and ground.

Simon Says Monday Challenge From dry embossed paper to creating a resist effect with clear embossing powder, extra fine embossing powder to melted UTEE in a pot, there’s a lot of textured fun to be had this week.

I have heat embossing and dry embossing.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Enjoy!

You're really rocking out these Christmas cards now....and they're all so beautiful! Love that embossing folder and keep thinking I need to see if I can find it somewhere. The tree is lovely and really like using the gel pen for the "snow" on the branches.

Bonnie, this is stunning! I love the way you created the snow on the tree. So pretty! I know that this card will bring a lot of joy to whomever receives it. That is such a wonderful organization. I think it's wonderful that you have donated this card. But it is difficult to set the glitter aside isn't it? :) Thank you for joining the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge. ~ Michelle

This card said Peace to me too. I can envision the scene you described when I saw this card. Love the way you used the die to frame this tree, and you have one of my fav EF's as the background (and thank you very much for using this one a while back, so I could hunt up a source!) It makes a lovely backdrop to your serene tree. Your blue sponging was wonderful. TFS & Hugs

Bonnie...your Christmas card is so lovely. I truly love the design and the simplicity of this card. It makes me think of a still, snowy winter's evening with the pure white snow gently drifting and falling. Your die cut in the center with the tree is so pretty. I really love this card! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. <3 Candy

I love your die shape on the front of this card. Beginning to get a stock piling of cards that are more than I shall use so the Operation Write Home sounds a good option for me. Off to find out some details. Hugs Mrs A.
