Merry Monday Christmas White

Merry Monday is dreaming
of a White Christmas this week.

Our talented Kristie chose this week's challenge.
One of my favorites!

I pulled out the Timeless Rectangle Nestabilities
that I'd used a couple of weeks ago.

This time I used all but the smallest of the rectangles.

I cut 2 of the largest and scored one about 1/8" below the dots
and glued the two together at the top.

The sentiment is from Come to Bethlehem.
I cut the Merry and Christmas apart
and stacked them.

I've sponged some Frost White Shimmer paint on the poinsettia.
The photo doesn't show the shimmer very well but it's there.

The bow is crochet cotton dragged through Gesso
and left to dry.  I love how it holds it's shape.
Glue dots hold it in place behind the flower.

I can't wait to see what you come up with
for the White on White challenge at
 Merry Monday!

I'm so glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!

Bloom with Hope for Loll

My good friend Loll (Stamping with Loll)
is celebrating her birthday.

Happy Birthday again, my friend.

One of the first cards that I saw of Loll's was lollipops.

This single daisy reminded me of a lollipop
so it had Loll's name on it right away.

I stamped the daisy (it's from a new Stampin' Up! hostess set)
with Smoky Slate and colored the center with a
Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker.

I cut out the flower and the stem
and placed it on my embossed piece with dimensionals.

Then I added some glue over the center and filled it with

The twine is some crochet cotton (the thickest I could find)
that has been dragged through some Gesso.
I let it dry on wax paper and wind on an empty ribbon spool.
I love how it molds easily with my fingers.

The partial embossing is something I saw recently on the Internet.
I usually save these things, but I can't find it now.
If you recognize this as your technique, please let me know
and I'll credit you with it.

I placed some painter's tape on my embossing folder,
using 2 pieces to measure about 1 1/2"

Using tab 1, I put the edge of the cutting plates even
with the bottom of the tape
and ran it through my Big Shot.

Then I repeated the process for the top section.

I love how it leaves a clean spot for the sentiment.

Loll is the hostess for the

I know it's a stretch, but this daisy has a sunny yellow center.
So I'm going to enter this over there.

Papillon Potpourri for the Teachers

I wanted to give Luke some cards to give his teachers and bus driver.

They have been so good to make his kindergarten year a pleasant experience.

I found these butterflies in my UFO butterfly box
and had the oval left over from my last Stamp Stack.

I've had this embossing folder for a couple of  years
and I don't believe I'd used it before.

I ought to use it more
and that's the theme this week at

Simon Monday Challenge Blog

It's a NBUS too.
I've already joined Darnell's challenge 3 times.
But if you use a NBUS,
do join in her challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Enjoy!

Blended Bloom for My Friend

This is the first Blended Bloom I did.

I finally got it on a card.

I used the Rich Razzleberry set of Blendabilities.

I really like them for coloring and the rich look they have.

But when I set it aside and proceeded to do one
with the Daffodil set, I got splatters all over this one.

It was easy enough to fix by adding some more dots.

I've learned to take the tops off away from any work
and to leave the tops loose until I'm finished.

I can't wait until Stampin' Up! releases more colors.
And until they release these colors to the public.

is You've Gotta  Have Friends.
I'm blessed with many and one
will get this card.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

And speaking of friends,
Darnell is still holding her

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

and since this was the first time I used
this stamp and the Blendabilities
and I have the added feature of being for a friend,
I'm going to enter this challenge for the 3rd time.

If  you have never visited Darnell's blog,
be sure you do.  She has a delightful way with words
(or non-words as is often the case),
and is always very positive and upbeat.
I always leave her blog with a smile on my face
and often with a few giggles too.

I hope you'll click on the links and check out these challenges.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

I found this tutorial by Lee Conrey.

It combines Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds.

Petite Petals Blues

This is a blue version of a card we did in a recent Stamp Stack.

This is so quick and pretty.

I think it would make a nice set of cards in many different colors.

I diecut the oval then embossed it with the retired
Designer Frames Embossing Folder.

Having a punch that matches these sweet flowers
makes it extra easy!

I used snippets for the flowers and leaves so I'm going over to

This is for a special Paper Players Challenge this week.

They're celebrating their 200th challenge!

Well, I guess it's not really a birthday.

The challenge this week is
create a new project based on any one of the challenges presented by our DT

I chose two for this card.

First is Ann Schach's challenge.

also Jaydee's challenge

There's some beautiful cards by the DT.
And the winner of this week's challenge gets all these gorgeous DT cards!

And at Splitcoaststampers, the CAS challenge this week is honoring
Harriet Skelly.

I've been an admirer of Harriet's cards for a long time.

This is the card that was my inspiration.

Merry Monday Pink and Silver

Hello and Merry Monday!

Kathy chose a fun color challenge for us this week.

Although I'm a traditional kind of gal most of the time, favoring
red and green on my Christmas cards,
I love to see pink and silver.
I think it makes such elegant Christmas cards.

I can't wait to see what  you come up with!

I've used the retired Snow Swirled set
stamping in Encore Silver and
embossing with Silver Embossing Powder.
I did the same thing with the sentiment.

The fancy rectangle is a NBUS
from Christmas.

And since our lovely friend,
Darnell
is challenging us to use NBUS
(Never Before Used Schtuff)
on our cards, I'll go share this
in her challenge.

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Congratulations, Darnell, I see that you are up to 541 Followers.

I hope you'll pull out your silver, pink and white
and join us at
Merry Monday!

I'm really glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

Meadow Greens with Baby Wipe

is using the Baby Wipe Technique this week.

Check out the fantastic video by
Ashley Cannon Newell.

And see what I did with it....

I used Wild Wasabi, Garden Green and Always Artichoke reinkers
a retired Handsome Hunter marker
and the Meadow Greens set from Papertrey Ink.

I love these ferns.

They make me think of peaceful walks in the woods.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Nature Walk Pink with Butterfly

I've raided my UFO (UnFinished Objects) box again.

I have a bunch of left over pieces from designing calendars
and from last year's calendars.

This was one of them.

After inking the flower stamp with markers, I stamped 3 times
 to create some dimension.

I colored the butterfly by swiping markers on a plastic lid
and picking up the color with a Blender Pen.

A little Sahara Sand around the butterfly makes it stand out
and gives it some dimension.

I used the largest die from Anytime Tags from Lil Inker (a NBUS) to cut
and emboss the design.

The mat was a snippet cut just a bit bigger and fussy cut to shape.

The Embossing Folder is a NBUS too.
It's so feminine and pretty.

With all this new schtuff on this card, I've got to go

Anything Goes
(Friendship Theme)

Congratulations, Darnell on passing the 500 mark with your followers!

this time is going on for 4 weeks.
A blessing for me.
Usually I don't have time to get one in.

This time we're playing BINGO.

I have Pink, Butterflies (butterfly), and Dry Embossing.

Do go and check out these challenges.

They both have wonderful inspiration and prizes.

I'm so glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!

Countryside for Father's Day

Father's Day is this coming weekend!

Yikes!

I'm not at all prepared!

I found this image in my UFO box
and did a really quick and easy card.

The image stamp belongs to a friend and had been stamped
quite a while ago at a Stamp and Share.

I quickly colored it by swiping markers on a plastic lid
and picking up the color with a Blender Pen.

A quick sentiment and run through my Big Shot with
my Stitched Mat Rectangles by Lil Inkers
(they cut and emboss at the same time)
and I was done.

One down.

One to go.

is looking for Masculine/Father's Day cards.

is looking for Transport.
This wheelbarrow looks pretty ancient, but
I think it could transport a plant or two.
{I used my Big Shot and Lil Inker embossing die}

is also about Transport.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Merry Monday Santa Penguin

It's Merry Monday time again!

This week Karren chose our challenge.

Isn't this the cutest picture?

I place my Santa hat on a penguin.
Actually it was already on this penguin.
I just stamped and colored it.
And added some "fur".

Since I used some snippets of DSP
and to put the penguin on, I'm off to

I can't wait for you to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with.
Some really fantastic ideas!
