Falalalala

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I recently got the Snow Notes dies and I've been having a lot of fun putting these
guys and gals together.  Christmas carols are probably my favorite part of the holidays.

This guy wanted to play at Freshly Made Sketches 700th challenge.
700 is a LOT of sketches!

They pulled out sketch 14 to play with this time.

I don't usually do square cards but sometimes I like to make a square out of a
rectangle.  Kind of like this....

I've just started playing at Freshly Made Sketches but I see that I had played there
years ago.  I don't know why I stopped.  Probably had other things going on.

Since the team and several of my friends have shared the first card they had done
for this challenge, here's mine from March 4, 2012 .....

Challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches #700 - Sketch above and below
Love Those Pretty Papers - Used Patterned Paper
NBUS #77 - Never Before Used Schtuff - Snowman Die

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Mixed Christmas Sentiments (HLS OOB)
Ink:   Real Red
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, PP (ret SU)
Other:  The Snow Notes dies (SB), Snowflake EF (MS), Stitched Circle die (SSS), Sing Joy (PB)

Enjoy!

I added some stenciling on the solid background and die cut and colored
some little bees to add on.

Best Fishes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had some fishy fun lately.

The collage die used in the background was a gift from a sweet friend and had been
sitting in my NBUS box too long.

I die cut some fish from an piece of watercolor background and added a
piece of embossed waves that I found in my UFO box to go with it.

I didn't have any fishy sentiments so I did some on the computer and die
cut with a banner die.

For this card, I used another collage die and did some sponging and stamping
on the background.  After stamping some bubbles, I embossed the top panel
and added a goldfish.

Thanks to this sweet friend, I have two more birthday cards for the stash.

Challenges:
Just Us Girls #788 - Word Week - Birthday
Seize the Birthday #311 - No Flowers

Card Recipe
Stamps:
Ink:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Marina Mist
Other:  School of Fish, Coral Collage, Under the Sea Collage dies (MB), Waves EF (MB), Seaside EF (SU), Computer Generated Sentiment

Creepy Tweet

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

When I saw these puffy birds all decked out for Halloween,
I just had to order the stamps!

These guys make me smile!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #699 for this round guy.
His belly made me thing of Verena's sketch.

I tried to use the sketch for the whole card and needed to put the sentiment a
bit lower.  I hope that's okay.  My eyes keep going to his belly anyway.

Challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches #699 - See sketch above
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Third Week E for embossing
Two Old Bats Halloween - ATG Halloween (did not use the mood board)
NBUS #77 - Never Before Used Schtuff (stamps)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Creep it Tweet (Unity)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:   Neenah Solar White
Other:  Spider Web EF (SZ), Infinity Circles die (HA), Stitched Circles (SSS), Copics (C3, C2, YR00)

Sweetly Scented Times Two

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I inked the stamp with Distress Ink Cubes, lightly spritzed and stamped
using my MISTI.  A damp brush works well to smooth out the color.

Ala Jill Foster and my friend Leslie, I added a bit of ink left over on a brush to the
bottom corner and some light stamping of grass.

The splatters were done with the corner of a stamp and I stamped off on scrap
before stamping on the card.

I added a butterfly embellishment and some gem embellishments to
finish it off.

Challenges:
The Flower Challenge #105 - Focus on flowers add embellishment

When I opened the stamp case, I found a stamped image.  It was a practice for this
month's calendar page.  I put it on a card too.

It was cut at an odd angle but the hexagon frame took care of that.

I'll add a sentiment when I need to sent it.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - Use dry embossing with a twist of Summer Fun
Simply Clean & Simple - Didn't use the option of cute animals

Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps:  Sweetly Scented, Delicate Silhouettes, Blessings (all PB)
Ink:   Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint,Wild Honey (DI), Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:   Mixed Media, Kraft
Other:  Bright Butterflies die (SSS), Caran d'ache Supracolor Pencil (Dk Carmine), Lucy's Little Things (rainbow jewels)

Card Recipe (card 2)
Stamps:  Sweetly Scented (PB)
Ink:   Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Gathered Twigs (DI)
Paper:   Neenah Solar White
Other:  Texture EF (PB), Hexagon Frame die (PB), Pierced Blanket Cover (Picket Fence)

Enjoy!

Enjoy

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've had some more fun with the Garden Trio set from Penny Black.

I've stamped the flowers on mixed media cardstock with Memento Toffee Crunch ink
for a no-line watercolor look and colored with Distress re-inkers.

After the watercolor was dry, I touched up the color with a watercolor pencil
and Cuused the matching dies to cut the flowers out.

I also cut a piece of Neenah solar white with the Curved Stitch die and embossed
it with a Stampin' Up embossing folder (ret.).

For a little something extra, I added some stenciling in the background.

The enjoy die cut sentiment was watercolored using the same re-inker.

I finished this card off with a few purple rhinestones.

Challenges:
Just Us Girls #787 - Use a Floral Die Cut
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - 2nd week Die Cuts

Ephemera and patterned paper that I bought several years ago.
