Crocus

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

We thought that spring was here, but now we're back to winter.
It will only last a few days though.
The early spring flowers have blossomed.  I don't have crocus in my yard
so I have to put them on cards.

I've used my dear friend Michele's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for these crocus.

Here's here sketch....

I've used a different shaped frame and moved my greenery up a bit.  I hope that's allowed.

I've cut the flowers and leaves out of white cardstock and sponged on color before
assembling the flowers.

If I'm going to mail Easter cards, I need to get them ready to mail.
Are you finding that the mail is extra slow these days?

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Sentiment computer generated
Ink:   Wilted Violet, Villianous Potion, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss (DI)
Paper:   Neenah Solar White
Other:  Botanicuts: Crocus (Grtry), Classy Frames die (PB), Texture EF (PB), Outline Floral Cross die (SSS)

Enjoy!

LIttle Weirdo

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I hope this guy makes you smile.

When this guy popped up in my email, he got my instant attention, even though I am
on a self imposed buying hiatus.  He did get instant attention though and didn't have to
sit in my NBUS box for long.  In fact, he didn't even make it into the box.

He's been stamped with Copic friendly ink and colored with Ohuhu and Copic markers.

I used a stencil to add some interest around him and a simple sentiment.

I hope he's CAS enough.

Challenges:
CAS Colours & Sketches #580 - Daffodil Delight, Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green
NBUS #84 - Never Before Used Schtuff
Simply Clean & Simple - CAS with option of Baby Animals (not sure of his age, lol!

Love Bookmark

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I usually read on my Kindle and don't need bookmarks, but I do use actual books
for my Bible and study books.  I love having a pretty bookmark to save my place.

These backgrounds were done by blowing colored bubbles in a cup and dipping the
cardstock into the bubbles.  You can read more about this technique on this post.

I made one for each of my small group study partners.  They were very well received.

Challenges:
Double D - Bookmarks or stamps
Penny Black Saturday - ATG using Penny Black

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Delicate Florals (PB), Faith (PB)
Ink:   Versafine Clair Nocturne, Distress Inks
Paper:   Neenah Solar White

Cardinal

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Today's card could be used for a winter birthday but I chose to make it
into a Christmas card.

I started with a piece of Grout Gray from MFT and stamped some leaves with
white pigment ink and heat embossed them.  Then I stamped the pine branches.
Any ink over the embossing wipes off with a paper towel.  A little script stamp in a
light gray added more interest to the background.

The cardinal was cut from Real Red cardstock and sponged with Cherry Cobbler
ink over the edges.  A Sharpie was used to color his bill.

I had some pine branches sitting out and popped one over the stamping and added
a berry branch too.  The bird fluttered over and landed on the branch.

Another one for my Christmas stash.

Challenges:
ABC Christmas - C is for Crimson
Christmas Kickstart #108 - Out of the woods
Jingle Belles - Christmas music (Joy to the World)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Forever Fern (SU), Pine (Inkadinkadoo), Christmas Sentiments (KC), Vintage Ephemera (W9)
Ink:   Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Going Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Morning Mist (VC)
Paper:   Grout Gray, Smokey Slate, Real Red
Other:  Small Cardinal Set (DD), Pine Bough die (Grtry), Winterberry Sprig die (MB), Tasteful Textile EF (SU)

Enjoy!

Stitching Butterfly

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm seeing signs of Spring outside my windows.  The daffodils are blooming and some
of the trees are budding out.  Soon we will be seeing the butterflies, although none
in this color.  But I was in an aqua mood.

I used Cécile's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #725.

I made a loose watercolor background by first painting water randomly then
dropping re-inkers into the wet.  I tipped the card to let the water run and blend a bit
then dried with my heat tool.  I repeated the process until I was happy with the background.

The butterfly (sorry this one doesn't seem to be available anymore) was cut from
mixed media paper too and colored the same way.

I tore a scrap piece of Neenah to size and embossed it for a place for the
butterfly to light.

I'll also send it over to Seize the Birthday #321 where they are looking for
birthday cards with the option anything with wings.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Peaceful Time (PB)
Ink:   Tranquil Teal (GKD)
Paper:   Mixed Media (Strathmore), Neenah Solar White, Gold Foil
Other:  Stitching Butterflies die (SSS), Large Words EF (Kwan Crafts), Distress Re-inkers (Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers)

Enjoy!
