Masculine Christmas Tag

Here's another Mixed Media* Christmas Tag for

* For this event, Mixed Media is defined as stamps + ink, plus two other elements which add texture and/or dimension.

I stamped my French Script stamp on Very Vanilla with Sahara Sand ink
and sponged lightly with some more Sahara Sand.

The forest was stamped with Always Artichoke
with a little stamp from Inkadinkado.

Then I die cut the design with an Anytime Stitched Tag Die.

The background was made by cutting a piece of Crumb Cake 1/4" larger than the tag.
I slipped the top of the rectangle behind a circle die and cut the arc for the top.
(LOL, Don't ask me to demonstrate this. I'm not sure I could ever do it again.)

The little deer was cut from a piece of backed burlap that Loll gifted me with.
Thank you, Loll!
The die is a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) from Sizzix.

A piece of jute ties it all off.

So I stamped, sponged, die cut/embossed and used burlap and jute for texture.

Hope you'll be inspired to make a tag and join in Loll's challenge.

There's a lot of inspiration from Loll, her Guests Designers
and the participants.
What a wonderful gallery.
So much inspiration!

So glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

Blue Christmas Bauble

It's Merry Monday time again.

This week wonderful Wendy has chosen our challenge.

Come see what she chose.

How elegant!

Here's what I did.

I inked and embossed the bauble with silver
then colored with the Night of Navy Blendabilities.

To give the ornament the look of glass, I smacked it with VersaMark
and heat embossed with some clear embossing powder.

Then I used a silver Signo Gel Pen to color the top and holly
to add some extra shine.

The embossed back panel was waiting in the UFO pile for a home.

I added lots of itty, bitty rhinestones and a little bow
to finish it all off.

With all the metallic, I'm going to share this at

Let's see what gorgeous blue and silver/gray ornaments you can create this week.

Don't forget to share them with us at Merry Monday.

I'm so glad you could stop by!

Enjoy!

Snowflakes Tag for Twelve Days of Christmas

Have you been over to Loll's

I was so honored that she asked me to be a Guest Designer.

Loll is such an inspiration to all of us.

She's asking for Mixed Media Tags for this challenge.
Here is her definition of Mixed Media

* For this event, Mixed Media is defined as stamps + ink, plus two other elements which add texture and/or dimension.

I sponged white cardstock with Soft Sky, marina Mist and Not Quite Navy
then stamped some snowflakes with water.
It makes very subtle snowflakes, but maybe you can see some in this photo.

I stamped some more snowflakes and a sentiment in silver and heat embossed them.

A snippet of Silver Glimmer Paper cut with the MB Frosty Border
made an easy finish for the design.

I hope you'll check out all the beautiful tags for this event.
Every day Loll posts a tag and has a Guest Designer post too.

Then there's the gallery.

Enter a card and you could win a $40.00 Gift Certificate to STAMPlorations.

Oh, and you have until Nov. 16th to enter.

You can enter lots of times between now and then.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Snowflake Tag

Another tag for Loll's Tag Event

I love snowflakes and the white embossed snowflakes
are so pretty on the Lost Lagoon cardstock.

I've stamped and embossed the snowflakes and sentiment in white,
daubed a little Whisper White across the background, die cut and dry embossed.

Addicted to CAS is asking for tags too.

Many of you know that I've been a full time Nana to Luke and Jack for 5 years.
They moved to a town a little further away last Spring and bringing them to us became
more difficult.  And DH and I don't move fast enough to get over there by 7:30 in the morning!

Luke is in 1st grade now.

And Jack started in Daycare on Monday.

I sure do miss him.

We talked on the phone last night and he blew me lots of kisses.

He's also left me with the virus he had a couple of weeks ago.

I've had a raging fever since last night.

I'm really glad I didn't have to keep him today.

But I'm hoping for some more phone kisses tonight.

I'm glad you stopped by.

Hope you're feeling well.

Enjoy!

Lovely Tree Tag for Twelve Tags of Christmas

My friend Loll of Stamping with Loll
is hosting a new challenge.

The challenge is to do Mixed Media Christmas Tags.

For this event, Mixed Media is defined as stamps + ink, plus two other elements which add texture and/or dimension.

Here's one that I did.

The background was in my UFO (UnFinished Objects) box.

It was made by applying ink on a craft mat, spritzing and
dragging the paper through the wet ink.

I used embossing paste and the Simon Says snow fall stencil to add some snowfall.

I stamped the tree in Mossy Meadow and 2nd & 3rd generation stamped behind.

There's a little cardinal on the tree.
It's not quite so dark IRL.

is walking down Memory Lane and asking for the Good Ol' Days.
In the Good Ol' Days of my childhood, there was a stand of pine trees
behind our house. I loved waking up to see the snowfall on those trees.
It was a magical place to grow up.

I hope you'll create a tag and join in.

I'm new to tags and having fun with them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!
