Watercolor Class Flowering Vine

This is my last post of homework for the Watercolor for Cardmakers Intermediate Class

There are till techniques that I haven't tried.

Fortunately they give lifetime access to the class.

I can go back when I have time to really dig in to the last techniques.

Hopefully it will be soon.

For this card I did a bit of wash in the background, dried it,
painted the vine through a stencil and used brushstrokes for the flowers.

Debbie Hughes demonstrated this technique.

I love the softness and unstructured look.

(I say that so I can get by with these weird flowers.)

If you're interested in learning more about watercolor techniques,
I highly recommend this class.
You can find the class at

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Enjoy!

Bonnie, this card is beautifully water colored, I love the pop of red/orange/yellow of your flowers and this beautiful aqua flourish.
I've never been able to do a color wash like you did here, as much as I love water colors, I'm always very apprehensive about doing it.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful cards you are making on this class.
I tried the link but it's not working for me. I think I will check this classes out.
Hugs,
Maria.

This has a beautiful, ethereal, painterly feel Bonnie! Reminds me of some of the French Impressionist paintings! Have a lovely day! Hazel xx

Thanks for sharing what you learned! Your card is beautiful. I've learned a lot from several of the online classes, but I skipped this one because my attempts at water color usually end in a messy failure. My happy "medium" is colored pencil.

Bonnie, you have done so well in the watercolour class! Another beauty that I would be very proud of if I'd painted it!

Once again, something beautiful. If you're still not happy with your flowers, look at some of the old 'Masters' watercolors, - it's the suggestion of a blossom, not the actual realism - that is 'the look'. I think you've captured it just great, and I think I like this one best of all that you've shared. (well, then I think that each time I see one of your class projects!) You've done marvelously in this class. TFS & Happy wkend.

Your watercolors are so beautiful! I love the look a hazy, very nostalgic ... It is in them a yearning that sits well with me.

Oh! Bonnie this is beautiful, I agree with Mary H about the suggestion of flowers the great artists did. In fact viewing a picture recently, I thought it so very beautiful, then saw it in close up and it was a mess, not saying yours is a mess, just the artist had given the idea of flowers and people rather than actual flowers, I think I'm getting myself in a mess LOL. I just needed to say, your work is beautiful so are the colours. x

Beautiful card, and a great job with the watercoloring! (something that I find intimidating.)
