Emboss, Emboss Reminder for CAS Mix Up

This stamp has been in my NBUS box for years.

That's right, years!

Our  challenge at CAS Mix Up,
to use heat embossing,
was just the excuse I needed to ink it up.

There's a lot of heat embossing on this card.

The whole background is embossed.

Here's a close up.

First I stamped the script stamp from the retired French Foliage set
on a piece of Whisper White card stock.

Then  I heavily inked the Large Blossom stamp with VersaMark
and stamped over the script, heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder
and was ready to color.

I used my Zigs to color the flowers, leaves and stems.

I used the last bits of Orchid Opulence cardstock.
(Stampin' Up retired it a long time ago.
I wish I'd stocked up. Love this color!)

When I stamped the sentiment, I misjudged and it looked too high.

It was a great excuse to dry emboss a little border across the bottom.
I had to emboss the card closed so it has that pretty embossing on the inside too.

All this embossing will let me join in at
Simon Says Monday Challenge
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog

There's still time to join us at CAS Mix Up
The challenge is open until the 24th.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

This is so beautiful Bonnie. I LOVE this image. Great idea to add the subtle script in the background before embossing your image. LOVE the colours with your zigs ... great job. And the small little embossed border at the bottom is such a pretty finishing touch. xx

Gorgeous Heat Embossed and Zig marker colored flowers. Your NBUS is very trendy now and so beautiful in your creative hands. TFS your detailed description too. I no longer have the Orchid CS, but do have the embossing folder...hmmm! You are inspiring me again my friend. Hugs, Nancy

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who leaves toys languishing... unloved and forgotten... and then suddenly remembered :)
I can see why you bought this stamp. You've made a beautiful card with it. X

I, too, have had that same stamp for years and have never used it! LOL! Your stamp layering, embossing and coloring is so pretty! Thanks for the inspiration to get out those never used items. While some trends do come and go, most of our older stamps, dies and EFs can still be used to make beautiful cards.

Gorgeous flowers Bonnie and that stamp was well worth digging out of your NBUS box and the colours you have used are so pretty. I love your idea of adding the dry embossing along the bottom to make the sentiment seem less high, just tricking the eye, very clever! x
