Wishing You Love Reminder for CAS Watercolour Card Challenge

There's just over a week left at the
  CAS Watercolour Card  Challenge.

There's lots of loving entries in the gallery.

The Design Team and our talented Guest Designer, Michelle have
some more inspiration cards for you to enjoy.

Hope to see your's there too.

DH and I recently went to Virginia for a few days.
While he was in meetings, I played with my Koi travel set
and some previously stamped pieces.

This piece hadn't stamped clearly but I decided to try to salvage it.

After I colored the butterfly and did a very light wash on the background,
I took my Extra Fine Point Black Sharpie and dotted the fine tip around the
outline of the butterfly where it hadn't stamped well.
This technique is called Pointillism.

I finished it off with one of my favorite Penny Black sentiments.

I'm thinking about adding some sequins.
I'm not sure that I want them.
What do you think?

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Card Recipe

Beautiful design, Bonnie! Love the sweet butterfly. Great job saving it with your black fine liner ... looks perfect!! Love the black stripe at the bottom to ground the design. I love it the way it is ... sans sequins. xx

A really lovely card Bonnie. I love the colour of your butterfly and what a good tip the pointillism is. I like your delicate sky wash too. Barbxx

I usually add sequins for boo boos or to add balance to a finished card front. I do not see any boo boo's and your sentiment and strip of black at the bottom give your card wonderful balance. TFS your tip, Bonnie of using pointillism to repair your pretty butterfly. Hugs..

What a great save, Bonnie! How beautifully you colored it and I love the black band at the bottom. It stands so beautiful just like it is!

What a great save! Your 'points' are so well done. This is a technique I've struggled with, and to date, never very successfully. Your butterfly is beautiful, and I like the way you've got the scant black bottom border to emphasize the black on the pretty blue flutterby. Glad you had a little weekend away. TFS & Hugs

Butterflies are one of my faves to do on cards and this card is lovely. Beautiful color butterfly with the black....touch-ups and all. I don't think it needs sequins...serene and so pretty just the way it is

Well saved with your fine line pen Bonnie and I love that pretty blue you have used for the butterfly and the touch of blue in the background for the sky, also the black line at the bottom grounds the delightful sentiment. x

What a wonderful 'save' Bonnie - and a fabulous card as a result. A few clear sequins perhaps?

Hello Bonnie, Such a beautiful Card! Love the blues and black together. Your card is perfect as is, sequins are always a nice touch to a card too.

Wow, your butterfly card is beautiful Bonnie! Love that butterfly and the colors you watercolored it with. Nice save as well!! Yes, I think you should put some sequins on it, can't go wrong with a few sequins! lol How fun that you got to go with DH to VA!!! I love VA! Hugs, Brenda

Great job saving this beautiful butterfly. The light wash over the background is perfect. Thanks for the tip on Pointillism. Love the sentiment.
Have a great weekend.

So glad you saved the butterfly - it's lovely in those shades of aqua and turquoise. The wide black border of the butterfly balances perfectly with the black strip at the bottom and the heavier font in some of the sentiment.

Forgot to say - I don't think it needs sequins but if I were to put them on, I'd try one to the right of the butterfly and two (one larger, one smaller) quite close together to the left of the sentiment. Either clear ones or very pale aqua.

Such a gorgeous card, Bonnie. If it were my card, I would add sequins, because that's what I usually do - but then I would probably regret it, so I think you should leave it as is!

beautiful CAS design, love the simplicity of the butterfly.

Gorgeous butterfly, Bonnie - another successful make-it-work moment!!

Beautiful, Bonnie, just beautiful coloring and design! I'm always conflicted about adding dots and sequints, too! Maybe in between the butterfly and sediment to bridge that gap and make a connection? (She says, shrugging, cuz what does she know, lol!) Hugs, Darnell

Good idea to use the fine liner pen. So delicate and love the black line on the bottom to ground the card. No sequins for me x

Beautiful butterfly! Oh how I've missed seeing all your creations!

I love the blue of the butterfly, Bonnie, and I'm glad you could save the irregular stamping. I'll add my no sequins vote to the others.

Very pretty, Bonnie! Love that sentiment and beautiful butterfly. I've done that before with a sharpie but never knew it had an actual name to it. And I too like it without the sequins.

Such a beautiful butterfly...too bad it's retired! I love how you watercolored his wings in such a lovely palette and how you added details with Pointillism...so striking!
My vote: no sequins...it's gorgeous just the way it is :)
