Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I admit it. I just don't have good luck with inking embossing folders!
But, I did manage to get one good pass by sponging the ink on the folder
and running it through without spritzing.
I think the spritzing is my problem. And spraying.
Since I finally had some success, I took advantage of it and got two cards out of it.
This sweet little bird is from Poppystamps and cut from a snippet of Inka Gold Smoosh.

Looks completely fabulous to me, Bonnie! Love the pop of colour from the bird too. Thanks for playing at Christmas Kickstart and Let's Squash It, Jo x
I love these! I am doing a class tomorrow on this technique, hope mine turn out okay as well! I love the Whittles...I would get every single one if I could afford to! This little bird is perfect...he stands out so brilliantly against your snowy trees!
Just love both versions of your sweet birdies in the birch trees, Bonnie!! That soft weathered wood color looks amazing!!
Stunning work.
Card is lovely! I've been playing with that technique as well & results have been up and down. For me, lighter colors have been more successful. I am NOT spritzing on EF...just occasionally on cardstock. Applying ink directly to EF...not brayering works well for me.
Wonderful cards worth the perseverance Bonnie.

Hi Bonnie
Just saw this little beauty pop up on my dashboard .. .. and was then treated to a second .. .. .. I love them!!
What a great embossing folder and I love the pop of red on them.
Hope you are well and keeping yourself nice and busy.
Love Jules xx
Well, I will say I think both your cards are beautiful. I keep trying with the inking of embossing folders... hear of another idea, try it, but it doesn't work quite so well for me. Yet, I will try again. Love your cute little bird, and the birch trees and sentiments are fabulous!
Two beautiful cards. I like your inking on the embossing folder. I have done this and usually have good luck with it. The cute little red birds just pop on the birch tree background. TFS
Love them both, that bright red bird really pops against that all white card. The light inking gives the impression of really cold day. The second is fun too, love the black inking and matting. Both are Heavenly xx
The weathered wood really makes the white trees stand out Bonnie, and I adore the red bird which really pops too, and a wonderful complementary sentiment. x
These are so sweet. Your EF inking looks beautiful to me. Great designs. Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas.
Two lovely cards, Bonnie! I think your inking turned out beautifully...we're so hard on ourselves, right? I love the darling bird and both sentiments that you chose for each card! So happy you joined in the fun at CAS Christmas! Barb xx
Two beautiful cards Bonnie. Great work with inking your embossing folder. I'm with you - hit and miss - I never know. I'm going to try a brayer one of these days to see if I can get a smooth coat on ink.
Anyways, the soft colours of your dry embossed background and that sweet red bird! LOVE both the sentiments you've used. xx
Beautiful cards Bonnie - the shaded/ombre backgrounds are wonderful with the tress in relief and the pop of colour of the cardinal.'
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
I love both inkings, Bonnie! and each of your darling whittle birds! That last sentiment is so gorgeous!
I haven't tried it with any but my favorite wood-grain folder in years.
I'm told J. McG has a trick using a brayer?

Yes you've got to run with it when the technique is a success Bonnie and your two cards sure are a success x. I love the grey and white with the pop of red on the cute little bird x. Both cards are beautiful Bonnie x.
Two wonderful cards, and I think your e/f attempt is perfect! Love the inky background that adds such subtle elegance to the scene.
My previous attempts used spritzing the folder Very Lightly, or spritzing the paper -- both made a pattern but very loose and artsy. Your scene building would be trickier since I think the no spritzing would work best for that but as always I could be wrong!
Beautiful! I have a soft spot in my heart for a red bird in a white or snowy scene.
Delightful cards, the pop of red against teh soft blue grey behind the trees is lovely! I always find I have the best luck if I brayer ink onto my folders and I never spritz (I usually use Distress ink, occasionally the old Adirondack dye inks). I think you got a great result here!
Looks perfect to me! What a beauty!
Your inking looks perfect, I love the pop of red from that little bird too. Great cards xx
Two beautiful cards, Bonnie, with your sponging on your EF. Lovely cards. Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.
Your inked embossing is beautiful on the birch trees Bonnie - and your little red cardinal looks so sweet sitting in the branches on both! xx
I love both of these peaceful scenic cards, Bonnie! Very pretty! Glad you joined us at Krafty Chicks this week. Stay safe and healthy, my friend! XX
Delicate and beautiful. Love it. Thanks for joining the fun at Let's Squash It! and Christmas Kickstart Challenge. Hugz
Great inked embossing folder backgrounds Bonnie, they came out perfectly. My inking can be a bit splotchy some times :)
A brilliantly realized technique of coloring the embossing folder. The gentle background tinting looks so good and is perfect for a red bird. Two fantastic cards.
xx
