Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends and a belated
Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends.
I hope you are finding lots of things to be thankful for.
Sometimes it's hard to see those blessings. I hope that today you can find at least one.
This month the Group of Seven Cardmakers are using die cuts to make
textured backgrounds.
For my first card, I used 2 pieces of Saffron cardstock that's been dabbed with
various Fall colored inks. I die cut this etched branch from one piece and glued
onto the other piece to create a textured background.
Then I die cut another branch from copper foil, trimmed a bit off and added over top.
A thin frame die cut from foil and some punched dots to add a little bit of
extra pizzazz.
Since Christmas is just around the corner, I used this technique for another
Christmas card.
This time I used a NBUS die and cut it multiple times to add randomly
over a card front.
I die cut another from Mixed Media paper and watercolored with ink pressed
into the top of my ink pads and a waterbrush.
I die cut Joy from my Twiggy Alphabet three times, sponged color on one,
and stacked them for the sentiment.
I hope you'll go to the Group of Seven blog to see what the fantastic textured
backgrounds my GO7 friends have done. Maybe you'll want to try the technique
yourself and link your card.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Bonnie! YOU and your friendship are something I am very thankful for!
Gorgeous creations using those wonderful die cuts - and since I've cooked, eaten, and dishes are done already I might find a few die cuts to play along!

Beautiful cards. Love the textured background with the die cuts. The Joy card is my favorite - I love it.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and family. ((hugs))
So pretty, Bonnie! You've done a wonderful job with this technique. I haven't used it in a long time, you ladies are inspiring me!
Happy Thanksgiving Bonnie, and what a beautiful card Thanksgiving card using the saffron colour for the background and the added die cut leaves over it, and the bits of other similar tones of ink for more depth, and the copper foil leaf frame looks wonderful over it. The die cut holly branch beautifully watercoloured looks gorgeous over the top of of the whiten on white background which you covered with them, and the black triple layered 'JOY' is perfect added to the white topper which stands out well backed with black..two terrific cards. x
Happy Thanksgiving! Both cards are beautiful! It's a technique I haven't tried, but both cards are very inspiring!
Two beautiful cards Bonnie, I love the fall colours in the first and the pop of colour with the holly in the second xx
Two fabulous cards demonstrating our technique. Love the autumn colours of the first one with the addition of the copper branch. The second one is gorgeous - love the white on white holly background and then the focal image of the coloured holly.
Two amazing cards using this technique, Bonnie. LOVE your fall card ... the colours you've added are so beautiful and I love the gorgeous die-cut leaves. The framed, copper leaves over top is beautiful. Your white-on-white holly background is so beautiful and perfect for your focal panel with the same holly branch that's been perfectly watercoloured. LOVE that skinny JOY sentiment. Lovely cards, my friend. xx
Two lovely makes, particularly loving the sumptuous NBUS make
Belated Happy Thanksgiving

Your textured backgrounds on both cards are BEAUTIFUL Bonnie! I'm particularly liking the Thanksgiving card and the colors you used...just gorgeous! Your Christmas card is just as lovely too though!! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend!! Hugs. :0)
This is a great technique and one I can really get into, Bonnie. The colors of the first one are so autumnal and beautiful with the gold. The second one is one I'll be CASEing. I've had that die forever and what a great way to use it. Thanks for the inspiration.
Your card is beautiful, Bonnie! Love the copper accents, as they also add so much to this technique, however the second card is pretty fabulous too. I do hope that your Thanksgiving was amazing!
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving and didn't work too hard, Bon! I'm so grateful to have you as one of my blessings! You did two beautiful examples of this technique and I appreciate you linking to NBUS again. Love you, Dolly
The Thanksgiving card is gorgeous. The fall colors and pop of gold made this so special. I love how you did the white background and colored the holly sprig for some color. Great cards.
A beautiful result and colours on each card. x
these are great. I just love the first one with those colours and the pops of gold. Simply gorgeous xx
Both of your cards are just gorgeous, Bonnie. Love that you used the technique and sponged over the entire background in that wonderful fall color. The stark contrast on the Christmas one looks fabulous.
Wow, what gorgeous cards you've created! I'm very partial to your Thanksgiving card, it's fabulous! I definitely need to try out this technique.
Bonnie, your Thanksgiving card is gorgeous beyond words. Oh, how I love the warmth and richness of it. Your Christmas card is a stunning example of the fun of this technique. One might think it was a 3D embossing folder with matching die. Gee, so many possibilities!
What a lovely Thanksgiving card with your inked backroad and die cuts, Bonnie! The gold die cut layered on top really adds elegance to your design. The white holly background is perfect for your black framed sentiment and colorful holly! Julia xx
Simple and Elegant and I love it. Sorry for the late visit. Kate P.
Beautiful cards - love the backgrounds.
Thanks for joining me at the Rudolph Days Challenge.
