Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
We recently had Cookie Day at my house.
I wish I could post the fabulous smells and sounds.
One of my girls had suggested that we should
all have Christmas aprons for Cookie Day. My apron pattern and cross stitch
Merry Christmas patterns are both AWOL so I decided to find aprons at the thrift store.
I was able to find lots of aprons in Christmas colors and they just needed a little
something extra. When I saw this die, I knew it was the perfect addition to
our Christmas aprons.
I found the felt locally and got a bunch cut out. I also found the bow buttons and
ordered the peppermint candies with the die. They were quick and easy to stitch up
while watching tv. I added the decorations with thick tacky glue, put a hanger
on each and safety pinned them to the aprons with instructions to remove the
gingerbread man before washing the apron.
Here's the assortment of gingerbread people...
And here I am with my girls...
Becky brought her sisters some snarky oven mitts.
It's best you can't see what Kelli's says!
The grandchildren are getting too big to enjoy the gingerbread decorating but our sweet
neighbors were glad to step in. They had so much fun and we had fun watching them and
of course had to sample their work.
I hope you have a sweet day.

That looks like fun. Have a wonderful Christmas xx
These are indeed the events that make the holidays grand, Bonnie! How wonderful that you found aprons at the TS for the girls for your darling little ginger people to adorn! You KNOW I want to know what that mitt says, right? x

So glad you could all get together for cookie baking and decorating, Bonnie, and what a great idea to get aprons for everyone. Your felt gingerbread people are so cute and the fact they become an ornament is even better. I know what you mean about the grands getting too old. We had a day with my daughter, her daughter and her daughter Hannah 9. Noah at 11 decorated one or two and then got bored. It's been a tradition since Allyson was little and she wants to keep it going thankfully.
Your gingerbread people are adorable and look great on the aprons. A lovely bunch of ladies too. I know you had fun on cookie day. Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas. ((Hugs))
