I finally have started on Christmas cards. Nothing like waiting for a heat wave
to get inspired to do Christmas cards!
I discovered an envelope of pieces for Christmas cards that got set aside
last December. I thought that was a good place to start. When I saw this image
I knew it would be a good fit for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for this week.
I used a stitched square die to cut the image and added it to an embossed strip.
All it needed was a simple sentiment and a Christmas card was done.
I do try to remember to stamp a sentiment on the inside too so I don't have to
do them when it's time to send the cards out.

Oh, Bonnie! He is very handsome perched upon that pretty pine bough and as the star of this week's Sketch! Love the embossing on the back panel and that navy card is very handsome, too!
Good for you getting the insides stamped - that can take as long to do as addressing the envelopes!

A hot day is perfect for staying inside and getting a start on Christmas cards, Bonnie. The perfectly colored blue jay is ready to add his greeting to yours.
I love your blue messenger and your coloring is perfect. He looks great perched on the pine branch and ready for Christmas. It is always hot or warm here in Florida so that doesn't bother me when I make Christmas cards. :) I enjoy making them year roud.
Your little bird is stunning. He looks right at home on that branch. Love the splatters too xx
I do love birds and have several feeders. Two are located right outside my craft room windows. There is a family of Blue Jays visiting daily. They are huge birds! Their blue colors go from dark and vivid to the palest shades of blue. Your Jay is really pretty and I am amused to see a touch of haughtiness in his expression. The look in his eye seems to say "Okay guys, I'm here now and the rest of you can leave." And believe me Bonnie, all the little birds leave.
With the extreme heat this summer, everyone will be happy to see snow. Love your card Bonnie. I particularly like like your use of the dark blue background.

I love it when I find already prepared pieces. Your Bluejay is so handsome sitting on that pretty pine bought. The snow looks so realistic. A great way to get started on your Christmas cards!
LOVE your sweet bluejay, Bonnie. Great way to use that awesome sketch. I don't know why I haven't been making the inside pieces for my cards all these years. So much easier doing that when you make the card. :) I admire those that make cards, inserts, and envelopes all at the same time. xx
