Smooshing with Happy Little Stampers

It's time for a new challenge at

This month's challenge is

If you're not sure about this technique,
Loll has found several links to smooshing videos.

Tutorials:

My flower was cut from pieces of smooshed watercolor paper.

The green was done with re-inker and metallic Perfect Pearls
spritzed with water on a craft mat.

The flower head was mopped up from Brusho overrun.

I find that I get some really pretty papers from the leftovers.

Our challenge is sponsored by

and the winner will receive one stamp set from HLS.

Joyce is our fantastic Guest Designer this month.

Christmas Thank you for Happy Little Stampers

Please be sure to include the WHAT, WHY and HOW of your favourite technique in your blog post.  Thank you!!

That's kind of like choosing my favorite child which is an impossible task.

So I tried doing a card using a few of my favorite techniques and
this is the best of the lot.

Dry embossing has been one of my very favorite techniques.

I like a lot of white space and texture.

I love my Big Shot and embossing folders!

This is one of my favorite folders.

I also used a punch, which was my favorite technique before I discovered embossing.

Now won't you share your favorite technique with us at
(Make sure it CAS)

If you need inspiration, I promise you'll find it at the site.
The Design Team has done some awesome work to inspire.

Our fabulous Guest Designer is TaeEun.
I love her work.

There are prizes for the winner too.

Winner will receive

Soft Colors for Merry Monday

Good Merry Monday Morning!

Our talented friend Deanne is hosting this week's challenge.

It's one of my favorites because I always love these soft colors on a
Christmas card, but don't think to go to it on my own.

I love the way this turned out!

The rest of the Design Team has outdone themselves!
Be sure to check out that wonderful inspiration.

I rarely do a sketch challenge, but when I saw this at
I knew just what I wanted to do.

And for once, it turned out like I envisioned!

I hope you'll get out some pink, green and white and
join us at Merry Monday.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Gilded Leaf for Happy Little Stampers

It's time for the

Here's this month's challenge

DEFINITION:

gild·ing
ˈɡildiNG/
noun
  1. the process of applying gold leaf or gold paint.
    • the material used in, or the surface produced by applying gold leaf or gold paint.

Suggestions:  use gold on all or part of a card base or embellishment (gold embossing powder, gold metallic pen, gold paint, gold mica powders, Inka gold wax paste, liquid gold pearls, gold shimmer mist, gilding flakes)

You can find links to video tutorials at the challenge site.

This challenge is sponsored by

The winner will receive this stamp set.

We have lots of inspiration for you from our fabulous Design Team

Karen Mead is our talented Guest Designer this month.

I used the technique from this video tutorial for my card.

I stamped the leaf and heat embossed with gold powder for the main image.

Then I masked off 2 edges, inked with VersaMark and heat embossed those edges.
I repeated the process for the other 2 edges.

I found a piece of handmade paper from an ancient pad in my stash and cut
a piece to fit the card front.

Now what to do for splatters?

I put a drop of Encore Gold reinker in my palette, dropped a little water in
and stirred it until it blended good.  Picked some up on my paint brush
and tapped to get some splatters on the background and the design piece.

Finally, I inked the edges of the card and dipped into
the embossing powder and heat set.

I didn't add a sentiment because I'm not sure what I'll use this card for.

Now it's your turn to bring on the gold.

I hope you'll join us at
(Please make sure your cards are CAS.)

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Christmas Lights for Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday time

Here's my card for this week.

Wendy chose our challenge this week

My friend Jan had lent me a Sizzlit that had a Christmas tree light on it.

I'd say that was serendipitous!

I cut them from different snippets of colored paper,
smacked them with VersaMark,
sprinkled some Heat and Stick Powder on them,
heat and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds.

I cut some snippets of foil with the base of the lights
and did a little bit of scoring.

Strung them on some of Stampin' Up!'s new gold twine (love it),
and I was done.

Now it's your turn.

I hope to see you at Merry Monday.

I haven't been to visit at
for quite awhile.
So I'm off to see if they'll let me back in.

and

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Watercoloring for Merry Monday

Good Merry Monday morning!

This week our challenge is brought to you by our fantastic former
Merry Maker, Katie.  Miss you Katie.

You know I love this challenge!

And I had bookmarked this card by my friend Heather Telford.

She always inspires me with her watercolor techniques!

I used the holly from a new Stampin' Up! set called Embellished Ornaments.

I love every stamp in this set!

I inked the holly with Garden Green and stamped on a piece of Mixed Media paper
then used my Aqua Painter to move the color.

I used a Cherry Cobbler marker to color the berries
and stamped this fantastic sentiment from my Happy Little Stampers
Mixed Christmas Messages set.

A snippet of red twine and embossed rectangles finished this off.

If you want to see some other fantastic inspiration using the
Happy Little Stampers sets,  do check out the Blog Hop over there.
If you follow the blog hop and comment on each entry, you have a
chance to win all Kylie's fantastic sets!

there's a prize up for grabs over there too.

I hope you'll try a watercolor technique on a Christmas card
and join us at Merry Monday.

And be sure to go check out all the fantastic cards from the Design Team.
They are bound to inspire you!

I apologize for not getting around to your blogs like I'd like to.

Sometimes life gets busy and time gets short.

I'm hoping to get caught up soon.

Meanwhile, thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!
