Dragonfly Hello

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Today I've turned a sunflower into a daisy...a blue daisy.

And a pretty dragonfly stopped by to visit.  He was cut from Neenah Solar White
and his wings were ink blended.  I'm loving these colors so I kept the background
in the same.

Happy Fall

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've recently become enamored with Papertrey Ink dies and when I saw
that they had a challenge, I was disappointed that I didn't have the ink or paper
in the colors that they were asking for.  Then, I saw that they are offering a paper
pack with paper and cardstock of their challenge colors.

What a great idea and it gives me an opportunity to try their colors (of course I
had to add some ink to the order).  Thank you Papertrey Ink.

While I was at it, I made another card...

This time I put the flowers in a vase and added pumpkins.

Isn't this polka-dot paper fun?

As usual I'm up to the last minute to enter.  I had to get the paper pack after all.
The Design Team has done some wonderful Fall and Halloween cards.

Stamps:  Just Sentiments: Happy Fall (PTI)
Ink:   Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Honey Nut

 Card Recipe (card 2)

Copper Tree

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

When I saw Donna's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, I immediately
thought of this pennant die set and Christmas trees.

What to do beyond that took a bit longer!

Here's Donna's sketch...

I still had some scraps of copper paper on my table from some recent cards
and it made me think of copper trees.  Originally I was going to go with
stars on the tree, but then decided on snowflakes. So sparkly snowflakes came to play.

An embossed background didn't seem right and I remembered this pack of gold
embossed vellum that's been in my stash for years.  I think it worked
perfectly for a background.

I used a larger snowflake for Donna's circle and added the foiled sentiment
at the base of the 'tree'.

Only a few hours to enter.  Do check out the wonderful inspiration of the
Design Team and the lovely gallery at

Card Recipe
Stamps:
Ink:
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Gold Foil, Copper Paper (?), Glimmer, Embossed Vellum (ret SU)
Other:  Stacking Pennant dies (Honey Bee), Snowflake dies & punches, Border die (ret SU)

Enjoy!

Sunflower

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Cooler weather has finally arrived and it looks like we'll be enjoying it for
more than two days.  Yay!

This is a shameful CASE of Bobby's inspiration card for CAS Mix Up.  I changed the colors and
sentiment.  I also added an embossed background.  Thanks for the awesome inspiration!

I used the same stamp that Bobby used which has been retired.  Papertrey ink has
another stamp set that is similar called Framed in Flowers.

I've stamped and heat embossed in gold and used Tombow markers and my
waterbrush to color the sunflower and stem.  The background was done wet on wet
with Distress Re-inker.

To add a gold frame, I tapped the edges in VersaMark and heat
embossed with gold powder.  It's subtle but adds so much.

The design piece is popped up with foam.

I did another for Craft Group using a colored background like Bobby did only
I used yellow.  The camera turned that yellow much darker than IRL.

Everyone had fun adding ladybugs, bees or butterflies to their cards.

Challenges:
CAS Mix Up - Watercolor Sunflower
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Embossing
The Neglected Stuff - Sunflower stamp not used in years
Triple B - Birds, Blooms or Butterflies

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Botanical Blocks (PTI)
Ink:   Encore Gold, Chocolate Chip
Paper:   Mixed Media (Strathmore), Neenah Solar White, Crushed Curry
Other:  Gold EP, A2 Rectangle die (WF), Tombow (062, 025, 947, 879, 126, 158), Burlap EF (HB), Molded Frame EF (SB)

Enjoy!
