Color Book
When I was new to Stampin' Up!, I thought how nice it would be if I could actually see the cardstock and be sure of the colors. The assortment packages are a wonderful way to check out the colors but it's nice to see what you will be getting.
Now seemed like a perfect time to put a little book together with all the colors. Stampin' Up! had sent all the demonstrators one sheet of each of the new colors (all 5 are gorgeous!) and I had some of all the In Colors.
Now I can show you samples of all the colors. I will add the In Colors for the coming year when I get those.
I divided each color family with a ribbon and the whole thing is held together with a binder ring. I definitely need a bigger ring! I am trying to find a small package. If you know where I can get one, let me know. This one is about 1" I think.
The front and back are chipboard 4 1/4" square and covered with So Saffron DSP. I used the coordinating side of the paper on the inside. I used the Cropodile to punch the holes. The letters were cut with the BIG GUY and the SU Billboard Die.
I wish it had photographed better. The ring is a little tight and I couldn't fan the pages out the way I wanted.
I don't do much with scrapbooks, but I guess this really qualifies since I used a lot of scraps to make it, LOL.
Isn't it great that tomorrow is Friday? I hope it is a great day for you.

Of the Earth Twice
I had pulled out some of the colors that are soon departing from Stampin' Up! and the Mellow Moss caught my eye. I have always liked the softness of this color but it is dark enough for the Whisper White to show up well.
I like monochromatic cards and have to make myself add a third or fourth color. (Guess that's why I haven't done the Color Challenge yet today.) I think using just 2 colors worked well for this sympathy card. What do you think?
And for card #2.....
I found a piece of Chocolate Chip in the scap box and stamped it with the other flower image from this set with Chocolate Chip ink. I punched a piece of Mellow Moss with the Curly Label punch and used the BIG GUY and Movers & Shapers to do a slightly larger curly label out of white. The bird piece is cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

All A Flutter
I broke out a new stamp called All a Flutter. It is in the new Summer Mini catalog that you should have received by now. ( If not let me know.) It's on the last page and is a single stamp. I think it would be beautiful embossed but since I need to get some more black embossing powder, I stamped it with black Stazon ink. I used the Only Orange marker and blender pen to color it.
The embossing was done with the BIG GUY and the whacked embossing folder. The sentiment is from a set which is also in the Summer Mini called Watercolor Trio. Isn't it a pretty script?
I stamped and painted more than one butterfly soo......
This one uses some of the soon to be new colors and one soon to be discontinued color. The embossed strip (also done with the whacked folder) is Tangerine Tango and the mat behind the stamped image is the brand new Cajun Craze. I love both of these colors. I like the Apricot Appeal too and will be sad to see it go.
Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps: All a Flutter, Watercolor Trio
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, Only Orange SU Marker
Acc.: Blender Pen, Whacked Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Corner & Scallop Trim Border Punches
Card Recipe (card 2)
Stamps: All a Flutter
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze
Ink: Black Stazon, Only Orange SU Marker
Acc.: Blender pen, Whacked Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Flower Assortment Designer Brads
I don't usually use orange this time of year. I am more apt to use the Soft Subtle colors in the spring. Today's challenge was fun. I did something I wouldn't ordinarily do.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Awash with Butterflies
I was playing around with this set at Scrap & Share last time. I didn't really like what I had done. It was just too BIG! So, I cut it down and took the blue flowers off and here is what I ended up with.
I like the butterflies better than the blue flowers.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Awash with Flowers
Paper: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Ink: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery
Acc.: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (I used the back side)
I hope you like it. I love it when I can make something good out of something not so good.
Have a good weekend.

Triple Challenges
This first one is for the Technique Lovers Challenge and uses the Natures Nest stamp set. (I used the shell stamp from it on Tuesday's post for the CAS challenge.) This challenge is to use paper piercing.
I recently bought some Prismacolor pencils to use in a Creative Arts class and decided to give them a try. I used them like watercolor pencils with the Blender Pen. I think it worked out pretty good. DH even said it looked like a turtle. He's probably studied them closer than I have.
I stamped the image with Stazon on Shimmery White cardstock. The base card is Kraft, soon to be called Crumb Cake. I used Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow behind the image. The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations set and stamped in Chocolate Chip. I used the Mat Pack and Paper Piercer between the image and sentiment to add some pizzaz. (And so I could post it in the TLC Challenge.)
Last but not least.........

A Card for Me
It's from the Fun & Fast Notes set (on p. 56 in the Idea Book and Catalog).
Ruthann is having a lot of fun with this set.
She inspired me with a card she had made with the Of the Earth hostess set too. She inspired me so much that I made 5 cards from that set the next day!
Can't wait to share them with you soon.
I'm working on some challenges and I am anxious to get back to them.
Hope this gives you some inspiration.

Nature's Sea Shells
I'm trying to use the card stock that we will be saying good-bye to in June and the Cameo Coral and sea shells just seemed to be a perfect match.
I embossed the shells on Blush Blossom first. They were beautiful but didn't show up very well and I was in the mood to POP! You will probably see them in the future. They were too pretty to throw away.
The sentiment is from Watercolor Trio, a set in the Summer Mini Catalog. Have you received your catalog yet? It should be in the mail. If you are not on my mailing list and would like one, email me and I will put one in the mail. Anyway, the new mini catalog has some awesome stamps and accessories. I can't wait for you to see it.
I know the sentiment is crooked. It was a clear mount and there is no excuse for it. I was hurrying and didn't realize how crooked it was until I just saw this photo. I think I will have to do some a poppin' sentiment on the card before I send it!
Card Recipe
Card is 4 1/" Square
Stamps: Nature's Nest, Watercolor Trio
Paper: Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink: Whisper White, Basic Black
Acc.: White embossing powder, heat tool, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Dimensionals
Hope you enjoy this card and take a peek at Alanna's gallery for some awesome ideas.

Another Awash with Flowers
For the big flower, I stamped the solid stamp with Crushed Curry, then went behind it with the outline stamp in the same color. The stem and leaves were added in another step. I inked the little flowers with my markers in Melon Mambo & Old Olive. I did the outline first, then the solid stamp on this one. I love the clear mount stamps for this. It makes it so much easier when you can see where you are stamping!
The ovals are cut with the BIG GUY. I used the 2 largest ovals and pierced around the biggest one with my paper piercer.
A strip of Crushed Curry & Whisper white with a scalloped edge and a piece of ribbon finish it up. Such a quick and easy card.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Kind & Caring Thoughts
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo
Ink: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Acc.: Big Shot, Oval Dies, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Double Rectangle Punch, Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon
I'm so glad that Melon Mambo is going to stay as one of the core colors. It's one of my favorites. I will miss the Crushed Curry but the new Daffodil Delight is a beautiful shade of yellow. I can't wait for you to see it.
Off to my stamp room. I hope you have had a restful weekend and got to stamp a little, or a lot!

Awash with Flowers
If you don't want to host a workshop this month, you can purchase the set.
117062 Awash with Flowers (set of 18) Wood Mount $39.95
120549 Awash with Flowres (set of 18) Clear Mount $27.95
Here is one of the cards I have made with this set. I used the Poppin' Pastels technique for this one and the solid stamps.
In case you are not familiar with this technique....you stamp with VersaMark, then use sponge daubers to daub pastels over the the stamped image.
You need good light for this. The VersaMark is nearly invisible!
I love the softness of the colors and this technique is sooooo easy!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Very Thankful
Paper: Brocade Bue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Brocade Blue
Acc.: Stampin' Pastels, Sponge Daugers, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Certainly Celery 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Flat Back Pearls
Here is what the stamps look like. I'll show you a card done with both the solid and outline later.
Today I was working on a Color Challenge with the Greenhouse Garden set. (The vacuum won last night!) I'll show them to you tomorrow. I really like them. I got carried away, lol!
Got to get the ink off my fingers and start supper.
Enjoy!

Special Specials
The next set was another Christmas present. (Can you tell I like flowers?) I really love this set. The 2 step stamping really adds dimension to the flowers, especially when you use complimentary colors. It takes the stamping from nice to WOW! I have posted a couple of cards from this set and have several more up my sleeve.
Tomorrow I'll show you the brand new Awash with Flowers set that will be in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Customers get a chance to pre-order it this month. Then it won't be available again until July. I have been busy making samples to show with it. Stay tuned.

New Colors Coming Up!
There will also be 5 new In Colors that will be announced closer to the publication of the new Idea Book and Catalog 2010-2011. I'll keep you posted.
Unfortunately we will have to say good-bye to some of the old colors. You can see these colors below. Some of my favorite colors are in there, sniff, sniff! I am hopeful that the new colors will more than make up for the loss.
The retiring colors are in the chart below. If any of your favorite colors are on that chart, you might want to stock up on card stock and re-inkers because when they run out, they will no longer be available.
I can't wait to see what other new and exciting things that Stampin' Up! will be offering in July!
Off to stamp. Hope you will have a wonderful weekend.

Flutter By
This is a great set for two-step stamping. The flower is one stamp and the stamen is another. You can do the 2 stamps in different colors but I was in a monochromatic mood with this.
The butterfly is punched and embossed with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and the BIG GUY. I love, love, love those butterflies.
This is a really quick and easy card and would be beautiful in Melon Mambo. Hmmm, I think I will go try it!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Greenhouse Garden
Paper: Dusty Durango, Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Ink: Dusty Durango
Acc.: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Dusty Durango Polka Dot Ribbon
Happy Stampin',

Vintage Color Challenge
I inked the swirly stamp from the Vintage Vogue with markers so I could use 2 colors. The big flower is stamped on a Sending Love Notes; Kisses label with Tempting Turquoise and the small flower in the center was inked with Certainly Celery and thumped with the Turquoise. (I actually thumped with a cotton swab to get a softer blend.) The mat behind the Love Note is a piece of Celery cut just a little bigger.
The ribbon doesn't show up very well but I just knotted each piece and wrapped them around the panel.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Whimsical Words, Sanded
Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: VersaMark, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise Markers
Acc.: Sending Love Notes; Kisses, Certainly Celery narrow grosgrain ribbon, Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad, Corner Rounder Punch, Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit
I hope you have had a wonderful day and got to play a little.

A Prayer
A friend had asked for prayer for her family and I thought I would like to send them a card to remind them that they are in my prayers. I wanted bright and springy colors and the Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry just jumped out at me.
Even though Sale-A-Bration is over (sigh....) I still have some of the Welcome Neighbor DSP and since I still love it and it had the colors I was looking for, I just had to use it. The branches are punched from Cottage Wall DSP in the big Idea Book and Catalog. It has little spots of white and razzleberry. It makes me think of the flowering trees I see everywhere. I guess you could say that the Curry is the pollen. It is everywhere!
I used the Movers & Shapers die with the BIG GUY. It is a little bit bigger than the Curly Label Punch. Just the thing to pop the sentiment out. The little butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die in the Occasions Mini Catalog (p. 24).
I hope this brightens up the day for my friends.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Paper: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Welcome Neighbor DSP, Cottage Wall DSP, Old Olive
Ink: Old Olive
Acc.: Sending Love Notes; Hugs, Big Shot, Movers & Shapers, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Curly Label Punch, Extra Large 2 Step Bird Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad
I hope you have had a lovely, sun shining, bird singing day.
