Merry Monday #27 and Addicted to Stamps

We have a new sketch for Merry Monday this week.  It's so good to have you back Lesley!

I've enjoyed using this Christmas Blessings set.  There are so many possibilities.  You'll probably be seeing it a lot more.

This time I inked the stamp with my SU Markers.  I stamped the image with Crumb Cake and colored the flowers with Pink Pirouette. Then I swiped some Raspberry Ripple ink on a clear mount block and picked up the color with a blender pen to add some contrast along the edges of the petals.  Not my best painting job but the pearls in the center disguise that I hope.

The colors were a SCS Color Challenge last month.  I really love these colors together.

I used the Large Scallop Edgelit to cut the design piece and a piece of Raspberry Ripple.  I love this color.  It's right up there with Cherry Cobbler in my book!

And I used my new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack template to add a little more pizzazz to the scallops.  This piercing design is so perfect for this edgelit!

A Delicate Designs Embossing folder added some texture with the scallops and a leftover piece that had been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder added a little more texture.

The Addicted to Stamps challenge this week is to "Make Your Mark".  We are to use markers on our cards.

The colors were a SCS Color Challenge last month.  I really love these colors together.

And here's Lesley's fantastic sketch.

I hope you will join us at Merry Monday this week.  This is a great sketch with lots of possibilities.  I've seen the rest of the DT cards and they are fantastic!  Be sure to visit them for a treat.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Ink:  SU Markers (Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple)

I'm really behind on visiting you and commenting.  We went to visit my Dad last week.  He's in the Veteran's Home in VT and I hadn't seen him for a year.  It was a bittersweet visit.  I'm glad that they take such good care of him, but he is declining and our visit seemed to upset him.  At 91 his routine is better for him than a visit.  Besides that we had 2 cancelled flights on our trip and spent as much time in airports as we did with him.  I did enjoy seeing the Green Mountains again though.  They are my first home and will always make my heart swell.  I was so blessed to have a wonderful childhood in a beautiful place, and a wonderful, loving Dad.

I hope to get caught up with visits and commenting this week.  I have a class on Wednesday that I need to prepare for.  Maybe after that I can get back in the swing of things.

I'm so glad that you stopped by and that you continue to visit.  "See" you soon.

Enjoy!

Glad you're home safe and sound, Bonnie, but I'm sorry your trip was exhausting and frustrating (flights) and that it was bittersweet seeing your father. It sounds as if you have beautiful memories to override the current situation that you're all going through.

Your poinsettia card is scrumptious!

I'm sorry to hear your visit with your Dad was so sad and difficult. My Dad is approaching 90 and it's getting harder and harder.

I love your card - the scalloped edges are a great touch. And thank you for all your kind comments on my recent cards on SCS! Much appreciated!
